Anybody here have anything in their video game collection that is rare and/or valuable?
I once owned a mint cartridge of both Bonk's Adventure and Little Samson for the NES back in the early 2000s. Sold them for $30 and $50 respectively on ebay back then. Now they fetch $400 and $600. |

A 64DD. I'm just as much a fan of F-zero X as Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.
To create tracks on this game is soooo amazing. Totally worth the price i've spend on it. |

I have never bothered to check out what I could get out from my old games.
Maybe I should check it out someday.
I don't think that 99% of NES games are that valuable, right? I have around 30 games in mint condition for NES (including boxes, manuals and so on).
Same goes for SNES, I think.
My GameGear and the games might be most valuable I think. |

Well usually you need box and manual in good conditions to sell them at a high price. What "High" is depends on the game...
In france, the best thing I know is Nintendo 64 games still sealed by the official Nintendo rigig plastic box. They're sold for a bit less than 1000€ for the nintendo games which is crazy.
I never saw N64 games sold inside those blister in the N64 era tho (do you say this word oustide france lol).
About Nes games you probably can sell some of them at a fairly decent price, especially if there is the magic word "Zelda" on it. |

I still have a copy of Final Fantasy with its box, manuals, maps, etc. It's not the only boxed NES game I've managed to keep all these years, but it's probably the most valuable. Have a supplement and manual for Legend of Zelda, but the box is long since gone. There's a couple of the more difficult to find SNES games, such as Ogre Battle.
As far as actual rarity though, that goes to the Dr. V64 Jr. Of course, the only reason I have it is because of a certain member of the forums here ;*) _________________ (\_/) Beware

I'm a bit of a N64 collector (or at least was) and tinkerer. Got a Doctor 64 years ago and it was one of the best investments I ever made in my opinion, I've about 40 games and the "crown jewels" or so to speak is a gold collectors copy of Zelda Ocarina of Time pretty much mint in box. Really meant to sell it...but find myself looking at it thinking "MINE" sometimes so haven't got around to it! lol _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

My collection isn't very big and I really don't like to sell any of it because I replay my old games a lot and I know I'll regret it, hehe. So I'm not very worried about the value my items have, although I know some of them can be sold for a big price.
I was lucky enough to get a Conker's Bad Fur Day with manual and box in almost perfect condition a few years ago for 30 pounds (about 35 euros at that time) just before prices scalated. It lacks the original white board, although the previous owner created his own.
I also had a copy of the NES game Ufouria that wasn't released in Northamerica and it's very demanded these days. But I lost it with some other NES games after buying the N64 and putting the NES in the closet.
Ufouria was one of my favourite games for the system. It's like an easy Metroid with cartoony graphics and awesome music from Sunsoft.
The box and manual weren't in very good shape, but I'm sure the cartridge alone is quite valuable.
For Gamecube my rarest gem is Tales of Symphonia. I don't know in other countries, but the Spanish version had very few copies and everything PAL-ESP is quite expensive. It's also the only way to play this game in the PAL region, unless it has been released as one of those HD restorations, which I don't know.
The Last Story for the Wii is in a similar case, although this one is still very new. There was a collector's edition but mine is the normal version, so maybe mine won't be very valuable in the future.
There's only one game I would sell and that's Viewtiful Joe Red Hot Rumble for the Gamecube. I spend 15 euros on it thinking it was one of the sidescrolling games that had so many good reviews and I found it was a crappy Smash Bros clone.
Never buy a game by it's name. Be sure to know what's inside first. XDDD |

I honestly can't say it's entirely valuable. But I say my original copy of Pokemon Red (In perfectly working condition) is consider rather valuable to me. _________________ There totally nothing to read here. |

Yeah, I don't really have anything too rare or expensive, either. Not that I don't have a decent number or games from various consoles over the years, but nothing jumps out as being scarce or desirable by collectors.
Maybe not incredibly valuable, though you don't see them pop up a lot out there, is the display box used by stores to promote GoldenEye over in the UK. It's also in really great shape, too. Store displays don't always survive, and many of those that do aren't in the best of condition (especially cardboard).
I also was thrilled to land a nice boxed copy of GE from Brazil. You don't see too many boxes popping up on Mercado Livre, and the labels on cartridges are often really trashed or using replacement stickers. Trying to get some sellers to deal outside of Brazil can be fruitless, as well. Maybe not worth a lot, but I'd have to say rare, considering the completion and condition. _________________

I don't have anything rare or unusually valuable in my collection, but my collection is valuable to me, as to me it has the best games ever made, so I'm very happy with my collection! |
