I don't know if this has been posted before, but it was about the last thing I expected to stumble across while trawling the DC sites...someone made a half life (unreleased) mod for Goldeneye on the dreamcast...has anyone tried it?

How well does Halflife play on the DC? I've just finished fixing mine and was wondering if it was worth my time

HL1 plays rather inconstant on the DC. The controls are like 1.2 on GE. And the frame-rate is decent until lag spikes happen.
Play it at your own wants, as it's better to play the PC version

Hey MRKane, randomly enough I was the person who posted the video you linked xD
It was only a demo some Russian guy was making, the last I heard he has stopped working on it.
The demo was really laggy and crashes a lot but with a bit of polish it would be a fun game to play.
The thing I like about it is you play the campaign which most mods don't let you do. |

I am pretty sure this was only playable on the Dreamcast.

I've not actually been able to get it going on my dreamcast 
Seems from the videos that it was very far along in development, it's a real shame that he remained largely isolated from the likes of us, and also didn't branch out to submit files etc.

Yup tha TiZ that's THE SEGA and Xbox scene right there
HL1 not on PC .. really only worthy on PS2
If you're using DJ (DiscJuggler) , RAW Write , an absolute must !

Well as a quick update:
I use LiquidCD as I've only got access to Mac at the moment - and again this Mod wouldn't work for me, although all of the full games appear to work fine leading me to wonder if it's something with the DC itself. Might get inside it over the weekend and see about tweaking up the GDRom focus potentiometer as it's been having similar issues with commercial games too.
That's the thing about old hardware (especially analogue) - it sure does need maintained!
