This may seem a bit off the wall asking, but I need to do my due diligence as it were. I've been out of action for quite some time (understatement) and hardware has aged like my skin has.
All this said, I'm wondering if anyone can advise me on possible solutions. I've read through some posts here, but perhaps some aspects of parallel ports via USB have changed. I'm not sure! It appears Zoinkity is well versed in the subject.
I could trial and error, but perhaps some personal experience lately could help me out. I have my reasons for finding a solution, but I will not really get into those details. It's more just a matter of being able to write up a tutorial on how and what to use.
I'm just interested in being able to dump a cart, so I'm not sure if that complicates matters or not.
Regarding usb parallel cables, I see people raving on these, but they are using them for printers. I'm assuming then that the Gameshark is requiring something different. It's hard to imagine that Windows would find more compatibility, but I suppose it never hurts to ask.
Thanks for any help on this. It's 2016, holy sh!t! |

From that linked article, they mention requiring a "MosChip MCS7705 controller". The difficulty I'm finding at this moment is seeing that spec listed on any of the many many USB and PCI card options. Ideally I don't want to order from the US. I've found one with a MosChip MC7715, but can anyone verify that it would work? |
