I just feel this whole time bugs should've at least been looked into or in the time being have a overhaul look into the hit impact sounds again while not much else is going on. Just my two cents. _________________ "The Eye of Thundera, give me sight beyond sight!" |

I understand having a passion for a project but I'd go crazy if I worked for over 10 years on one project. It's good to see Wreck and the team enjoying working with other projects for now. That being said..I am, like many, itching for a small update on Goldeneye X (if just for the Platinum Gun and the aforementioned Grenade Launcher Animation) but I understand. I've been working on a certain project for several years now. It gets tiresome.
Edit: Wreck had mentioned he was working on a little update on GE:X. He even said it might not be in December (when he posted it) so I'm sure he will release something when he is ready.

As much as I love that project, I can handle easily the absence of update.
I think it's because, working on my own project, I learned how complex and time consuming everything done well is. _________________ Listen to me

Just checked the old post about the grenade launcher, very happy to see that people are down for the "one at a time" approach. Wasn't there an issue where we could only have one texture so the grenade launcher would always look full or always look empty.
Couldn't we have a cover on each slot so when the reload starts we pop them off, put the shell in, and close it up? _________________

Exactly. Goldeneye X must take a *lot* of time and hard work, and often the authors are having to reverse engineer and repeatedly experiment to get something to work, even if the change it ends up making to the final product is something that seems trivial or even utterly invisible to us players.
And the people involved aren't paid anything for their time and effort, and Goldeneye X is such a niche product (since nowadays very few people still play N64 games), and the number of people who are modding Goldeneye, or understand anything about the N64's technicalities, is so small that Goldeneye X's authors have almost no one to turn to if they need help. If they were modding a SNES game, for example, then there would be a lot more information (both technical, and game-related) available on the 'net, and many more fellow modders for them to discuss their projects with them.
It would be great if Wreck and co. concentrated on Goldeneye X all of the time, but then no doubt my boss would think it was great if I did my work for no pay, but that's not gonna happen! |

This forum needs a "like" button as that comment of yours would be an instant win for me.
If I'm allowed two cents to suggest to Wreck it would be to let his creative juices flow with the project. We don't need a carbon copy and sometimes it really helps to let fresh ideas into a project. Marathon: Resurrection was one such that I worked on and felt it benefited from a myriad of ideas that people brought to it as opposed to it being a copy of the original game. _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

I fully support Wreck and thank him for this project
It would be cool to put Timesplitters Monkey Gun into this game. It is a 64 bullet magazine gun that fires all bullets in 1 second. It has a 2.75 second reload time. The gun is pure fun!!!
Also, remove the dumb nuclear grenade and change the animation into a smoke grenade. I'm a professional call of duty player. There are all kinds of strategies you can utilize smoke grenades for. 1) To secure an objective. 2) To rush up the middle of the map more easily 3) To look through the smoke to see enemies if you have a gun with a special sight 4) To disable compute sentet guns and 5). To simply confuse the enemy
I'd also love a stun grenade. And better still a stun grenade launcher for further range. |

Great idea! A stun grenade launcher would be a clever little addition to the game. Come to think of it so would more "gagety" weapons which are less focused on killing, and more focused on "being bond from the movies". Even replace the proxy mines with proxy stun mines because lets face it: they're pretty spammy and this is a chance to address those aspects of the game _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

What, I love proxy mines. When I was playing with some friends a little bit a go we were laughing our butts off because we kept forgetting where we place them and ended up dying randomly. _________________

I love proxys as well..my buddy would put them on spawn points and when you spawn you would blow up lol
In my opinion, I don't think any new weapons (besides those already worked on) should be added. It's totally up to the team of course but they've already put soooo much time in with GE:X.
Edit: To see how well a "smoke gernade" would do in GE:X you have to look no further than Perfect Dark. Using the N-bomb a couple times makes the framerate almost unplayable.

Are you freaking kidding me? No way should the proximities be taken out. That's apart of the nature of the original game. If a select few want a fps to be more like call of duty and timesplitters than those who want GE-X to shift away from Goldeneye can just create their own mod of GE-X with elements from those games. For me I like GE-X the way it is. The team have done a great job in balancing the game out. I love the way GE-X currently is and if nobody likes it than they should just create their own version. Better yet create their own PD hack period. Rant over. _________________ "The Eye of Thundera, give me sight beyond sight!" |

Haha. We are just talking about adding a few weapons. It won't barely change the game. And it is innovative. Lol. |
