The link at the top of the forums *JAVA LIVE CHAT* randomly links me into a fake Facebook page asking for information to "make me a millionare". (Yeah sure  )
It also links to a blank page sometimes, ww12.goldeneyeonline.com.
I can't access the IRC chat unless someone else gives me the proper link.

Download an IRC client like mIRC, connect to the quakenet server and join the #goldeneyeonline channel.
There you go, same chat.

I'm able to get to it through other links and programs as you said, but it's still no good to have a scam link on the webpage and it'd be better if it gets fixed.

I love Discord too , I wish we could have one N64 serv though so everything goes there
Joined up in multiple Discords all for the same goal for same passion sucks

I know 2 Discord servers about N64:
The Elite (speedrunners of GE/PD)
Kaze Emanuar (romhacker of Mario 64)
Both are very active, the romhack one about Mario 64 even more.

Its main subject is GE64, I have channels dedicated to arranging multiplayer matches and others for modding, along the general chat and other off-topic. A lot of modders from here are in there like Carnivorous, Siul, Pheonarx, Coockie among others.
Currently there are around 530 members so it's easy to find a match for GE64, PD, GE:S and even GE Wii, we're really active.
Just make sure to mute a few of the channels like #terrible or #boys_with_toys (A bot to play around images) 
I believe it's the only Discord with channels like these for GE64.
