Maybe he means that it still sounds like a tank being driven? If you were to change the sound, however, it would likely need to affect all drivable vehicles. Unless Zoinkity came up with a way around that in his Tank! patch (which when looking back at it, he did indeed do).

The fogging seems very heavy on the Frigate, and your view distance is quite limited. This could certainly be impacting the framerate. I'll need to download the patch and see what's happening. The Frigate originally used a different sky block format, so that could be an issue here.

I should have it all fixed up, including Cradle on console weirdness, and will shoot you over a new patch once you have had a chance to message me with your e-mail address. Smile

Seems Cradle may indeed have some special hardcoding.

It's a prop model that loads in. I am not at my PC right now, but I think it is called "PgoldeneyelogoZ" or similar. If I remember correctly, the model format is different from most standard simple props, since it contains its own textures inside the file. It should be replaceable with a more standard type, however. Someone who has had success replacing the logo would be of greater help.

Oh interesting, I knew it was trouble to replace but didn't know about the texture associated...kinda like the door that the Skedar blow away at the start of Carrington institute defense mission.

Weird and annoying :p

Yeah, Perfect Dark included textures within the model file much more often than GoldenEye. I think GE only did it for logos, whereas PD had a bunch of level props setup that way. Not sure if there was any advantage to it. Maybe if it were a unique image that only it required, you might be better off storing it inside the model. Any texture shared by multiple makes sense to keep in the big bank of images, since it would only be loaded once to save space.

Sorry - late reply here! Pertaining to sounds - I can't remember how far Wreck got with the Tank! patch. I'm pretty sure it could redefine sounds for vehicles, and even allowed them to be used as stationary turrets, and had tweaks for the likes of speeds and player positions, but there was some difficulty with adding more than one vehicle type to the game or to a level if I recall.

I'm pretty sure it was the motorbike I made but I wish no credit - instead I'd ask that you try and fix it so it doesn't sound like the tank moving! Wink This was one of the core issues with the "Dam Overture" level I made. Fixing the vehicle stuff up was always something I had intended to do but I just rather lost interest and started messing with other bits and pieces.

That's going to be difficult, add sound of another vehicle to the bike, that was not planned, I prefer to leave it like this, to prevent my mod from having more bugs for so much memory, I'm sorry ... oh yeah, that's your bike What did you do

The models use an embedded texture originally with env mapping, so you'll need to redo the textures. I can guide you through on discord next time.
