UPDATE - I worked out all the bugs - crashing problems fixed, explosion problems fixed, stationary bottling drums fixed. The code listed below has been updated and is fully PJ64 as well as console compatible

END UPDATE

--------------------------------

I've made quite a few changes to what I had posted on here a few days ago. But I'm finally done.

-Area includes the Facility Bottling room and all immediate surroundings
-Bottling Tanks have been changed to giant explosive fuel drums
-Other fuel drums are scattered throughout the stage
-8 Respawn points
-I added some crates
-All doors and all glass are in place
-4 Weapons sets (1 of each)
-1 Body armor

The best weapon and the armor are both dangerous to go after - the weapons are lined up in between all the giant fuel drums, and the armor is in the little blue pipe thingy and is guarded by a fuel drum.

This should be a very fun multi player level.

that is pretty cool looking BMW!! I like the Fuel Drums, that is interesting. I'm still trying to finish up "Sumerian" http://shootersforever.com/forums_message_boards/viewtopic.php?t=723
Took some time to wall off the DITCH area and make it look good. Wonder what those Sumerians are hiding back there? All that's left now is the worship shrine and weapons. Wink

Those large fuel drums were a pain to figure out. Using the bottling tank code as a base, changing the image was easy to figure out, but they wouldn't explode. After looking at the pattern to the fuel drum code which was in Wreck's Quad, I figured out what lines of code I had to add to make them explode.

The rest of the fuel drums in this stage were created directly from the crates code contained in the quad. I didn't really need 10 crates, so I turned my leftover crates into fuel drums and made them explosive.

Since I had no preset map to work with, I had to manually figure out every single preset myself. That involved about 6 hours of testing in chronological order every single preset between 0030 and 0160 and figuring out where each one was by placing an ammo crate in each preset and then tracking it down in the level.

I'll have to check out your new level, looks interesting.

wow. sounds like you're doing good there. I'm still trying to get a hang on making ADVANCED presets work in GE.

Hmmmm.....I'm not having much luck with these codes on the console.

With all the codes entered, nothing happens. Even when I isolate some of the codes down, I'm still having problems. Main problem is that with this code on the console, the large fuel drums will not explode when you shoot them up.

Thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

I have directly uploaded the Emulator code to my GS so I know its not a data entry error. How often does the situation arise where codes work fine on the emulator but not on the console?

yeah... big problem with emulators. even PJ64 isn't guaranteed full proof that codes will change anything at all due to the programming for the ROM. My menu mod's sometimes wil just erase the whole damn menu and leave colors and the crosshair! we need Zoinkity to take PJ64 and rewrite to his specifications so it is more gameshark code specific. don't think he can't figure it out. Wink let's bug the snot out of him about it. Very Happy Twisted Evil just kidding squeester

The Facility is the only 'big' stage I had gotten around to making preset maps for. Considering it's popularity and many great areas, I thought it'd be wise to concentrate on that one over the rest. Plus, working on the backzones, midzone, Quad and Chemlab, forced me to mark the locations down earlier. In total, there are four different maps that indicate every preset. I just converted them all into jpeg format, but won't be able to host them until tomorrow. Well, it'd actually be later on today, since it's nearly seven in the morning and I've yet to sleep. I'll post them for you, and everyone else interested in modifying the Facility, when I find the time. Smile

By the way, what does "80036FB7 0001" do for the level?
I recognize the code, but can't seem to remember what it is for...

80036FB7 0001 is the "Enable all levels" code. I had to add it since I hadn't actually beat any solo levels on my rom so the facility was not accessible in multi without it.

I have tracked down the specific code which is causing problems for the console. EDIT - looks like I no longer need assistance, everything is fixed.

Had an opportunity to play this level with 2 other people this past week - played really well. Framerate suffers a little bit with 3 players but not bad unless there's a bunch of things exploding all at once.

The level provides quite a few good hiding sniper spots and lots of explosions.

Just tried it out in 1964. 2p, 3p & 4p all worked without difficulty, although framerate does drop as the number of players increase (surprise, surprise). However, in pj64(1.6), the Bottling tanks code sems to be what is causing my problems running the stage, as the game crashes most of the time while loading with it on. Also, when the stage does load, sometimes doors are missing, or players are unable to move. I've also found a couple of other weird things. Occasionally, the level has worked without flaws, but only rarely.

I've tried same plugins, but that didn't help, also tried changing rom settings, which didn't work either. So if it's not the plugins,or the settings, then what could it be? Is it NOT because of pj64?

By the way, excellent level! I also quite liked the explosive objects.

Hmmmmmm.....it runs flawlessly for me every single time in both PJ64 and on the console.

Without me actually examining the codes posted (because I have updated them a few times, maybe there's a mistake somewhere), let me post a direct copy-and-pase from my cheat file in my PJ64(1.6)....

Thank you very much. Tried out those codes and tested them on pj64, and no crashing, glitches, or errors. It also works with any number of players.

Stay tuned. I have another facility mod in the works - for a quick description - its the lab area loaded with benches, tables, computers, and various beakers (and a few other random objects like desk lamps, a telephone, and an explosive test tube).

I'm calling it the "Tech Lab" (from what I'm told its similar to Wreck's chemlab project which was never quite finished)

Testing is going well, so far it runs fine on the emulator and has one bug on the console. Wreck is helping me out with a few minor tweaks (and I must say, without Wreck's help and already created quad/backzone hacks, I'd be completely lost at even beginning to attempt a mod like this). Once those are complete I'll post the full code. And no sneak peeks! I don't like posting an unfinished product.

This should be a very fun multi player level.

The Facility bottling room is, so the Tech Lab must be a totally mind-blowing level once it comes out, right?
