I have stopped modding games for a bout a year now, but once on a while i try to look for things that can help make 3d animations & models faster.

I will share any of my finds that could help create faster guard & character animations in this post

First, something i tried very little a couple of years ago:

there is a free version of this on the brekel website, and there is other similar pograms that work with the second generation kinect, which seems to work even better
here is a sample animation using brekel pro and kinect for xbox one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tagYnrduU3U

the problem i ran into was that the editor was not able to import the "skeleton" because the brekel generated a gigantic skeleton

next - im sure some of you have seen this, i find that it could be very useful

it seems that this program can generate auto rigs, this could be very useful if they can be exported

my theory is you at home can use 2 movie clips, one of yourself imitating an action movie stunt, and a clip of the actual stunt, the program takes the 2 , generates rigs or bones and creates an animation & mesh to make you look like you are performing the dance/stunt/move

if you can export the bone and animation data and import it into PD GE it should cut down custom animation times by a lot

a blender kinect mocap studio tutorial:

as when it comes to modeling levels, i think that kinect 2 can scan 3d objects, so in theory you can make levels, objects out of clay, or cardboard, scan them and use them
