I have been lurking for years had to make an account to see if the big boys could make something like this?

There is DualEyes Cooperative...

I think there are some issues with it, but it is mostly playable.
As an alternative, GoldenEye X features coop missions. Only three missions so far (Silo, Frigate and Egypt), but it functions the same way as PD coop. |

GE:X is the closest we'll ever get to Co-op in GoldenEye, no hack can replicate perfect co-op unless the decomp of the game starts being used.
