Perfect Dark is the best game ever (in my humble opinion, anyway), and to celebrate it reaching it's twentieth birthday, there's an interesting article about it on Nintendo Life:

Joanna can finally drink next year! I played PD in celebration this weekend and realized how ahead of it's time this game truly was. Perfect Dark is forever.

Some good bits of information in there, definitely a fun read. Great find.

Great. To think there's some people born unable to have the dexterity to beat the game on Perfect Agent. I shouldn't be so modest towards myself and feel blessed for the talent.

I've never beaten the game on Perfect Agent. But, I haven't really given it a fair shot in many years, either. I have spent far more time hacking PD than I have playing it. Even from the start, back when I first got it. I was making a list of objects, when I didn't even know if they were beta leftovers, or from a mission I had not played yet! Laughing

Do my videos help you out with that? In this game the guards stand there and let you shoot them. They have no clue from weapon fire in the other room Agent Dark or I am there. lol

The Chess tactic is attraction. In DataDyne Research: Investigation. You can see those guys behind the glass in the basement. Have one see you then backup outside the room. When the door opens shoot like crazy aiming for the head. Or if you are weaker use the sub machine gun. Razz

I don't know if you're pulling my leg. Though I couldn't imagine making a tutorial on how to do the basics. The Elite has the time to help you with that though hacking your way to win might be a neat alternative. Laughing

Such a revolutionary game! Even still parts of it don't compare to many modern games. Man, I feel so old now....hopefully with it finally being 2020 Rare will make a new game soon.

Even if Rare did make a new game (sequel, prequel, remake) of one of our beloved classics, it won't really be the same Rare that developed those from the 90's and early 2000's. That group of individuals have long since parted, moved onto other companies, or left game design entirely. Closest thing we have now is Playtonic Games, who have released two Yooka-Laylee titles. So at least gameplay styles similar to Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country are still present. But as far as FPS goes...

That's true, sadly things just aren't the same anymore. I suppose Microsoft has the money they could always bring everyone back on board if they wanted to, although I sadly can't see it happening. One can only hope haha. Yeah FPS today certainly don't have the level of care PD and GE had put into them. These games were made back in a time where it was about a game being a good game and not just a product to buy.

There's always Spies Don't Die, which used to be GoldenEye 25 until they were slapped with a cease and desist. It's basically going to be heavily inspired by GoldenEye and Perfect Dark.
