Hello,

Is it possible to translate the PD Editor into Japanese?
Is there something like a language file?

I'm Japanese, and of course I'm good at Japanese, so I would like to help if there is anything.
If it is translated into Japanese, the number of Japanese hackers may increase.

It would be possible, but such a feat would be equivalent of rewriting the editor. Only a quarter of the text is located in the rc file, and the rest are shared between hundreds of c++ files.

Using the Japanese version of PD ROM is too challenging. I think I support file injection for Japanese mode already in Game Configuration, but that's as far as it could go.

As for still using the English version, but having the dialogs in Japanese, it's a pretty big pain because you need to replace the dialogs all with a Japanese equivalent completely. I experimented with this in the N64 Sound Tool and it support Portuguese.

I guess it's unlikely, and there is so much text it may not be feasible. Don't most people in Japan speak english? A lot of Japanese games I play have English.

Sorry for making an unreasonable suggestion.

I think there are many Japanese who can speak English, but some people are happy if they can play games in Japanese, so I asked.
However, I think it is not worth the effort, so it is better to stop it.

It's my personal hobby to play in Japanese.

It's not unreasonable it's just unfortunate, I would've had to do both things from the beginning, otherwise it's much too hard.

I'm sorry, I like Japanese so my personal request was to create a Japanese game in Japanese.
I am thinking of creating a new level of Perfect Dark.


Also, I asked because I wanted to see the contents of Action Blocks in the Japanese ROM.
For the Carrington Institution's mission to destroy confidential documents is that the Japanese version cannot be destroyed without Carrington's instructions.
Probably I think that something is added in Action Block, but I was wondering what is going on.

Game Configuration can load Japanese PD and rip or inject files, you can do that already in current editor.

I'm sorry if the usage is wrong.
I loaded Japanese PD ROM in Game Configuration, however the setup file was blank.

Yeah the only thing that works is the File stuff below. You can save and inject files.

This alone would be very helpful. I think the mod Japanese version is necessary because many Japanese do not have NTSC or PAL ROMs and many are not good at English.

I was able to inject the file and write the ROM, but I cannot start with Project64. If the ROM is written with no changes, it will not start. Or, does it not support writing Japanese ROMs?

It would be great if the Text Editor would also support the Japanese version of the file, or is there any way to fix it?
Also, if there is a way to inject animation files, please let me know. The Animation Editor crashes when I load a Japanese ROM. I would like to inject the prerecorded camera.

I put in extremely limited non-NTSC region support in beta (hopefully didn't break anything...). You can't do anything ASM related, but it should support minor modifications on all the dialogs. Maybe will help you a little, not sure what trying to do.

Also text bank editing in Japanese is unlikely to ever happen because of the way the editor is compiled in multi-byte format and Japanese font isn't really supported for most people either. If you need Japanese files (in english), you would have to just import/export them manually.

I would like to create a Japanese version of "dataDyne Facility - Stealth".

1. Inject Setup File and Pad File (Game Configuration) : NG
2. Import the prerecorded camera (Animation Editor) : OK
3. Replace the mission image (Image Editor) : OK

When I inject the Setup File in Game Configuration, the game freezes just before the title screen appears.
The same happens if I inject the original setup file.

Also, if possible, could you add an "Export Animation Binary" function for Prerecorded Fx in the Animation Editor? This would be useful for PD decompilation projects to create new level.
