Whoops, I guess that would make the game a whole heck of a lot older, if it were released in the 19th Century. Hehe...

According to GameSpot.com, GoldenEye was released on August 25th of 1997. Which means that it'll reach the decade old age in a few short months. It's still incredible to see the fanbase this title possesses. Mention the name to most gamers from the N64 era and their eyes will light up. If they can remember multiplayer matches from that long ago, you know how much of an impact it had on the world of gaming.

I asked someone the other day and of course his friends were good but he remembers it.

When I beat the whole game in 98 or 99 my friends had me beat the game for them to get the famous '007' on the cover.

Goldeneye is actually 12...the game was annouced at Ultra Nintendo 64 Shoshinkai 1995 back when it was Ultra 64. Which was 1995. It is offically 9 but should be 12.

Are we a little heavy-headed being so well-learned.

Sorry it's a bit late now but actually it was the 20th Century Not 19th, That was the 1800s, It's the 21st Century now. Now That Goldeneye is online and improvements are coming fast, you can only wonder whats coming next...
Goldeneye is not 10 until August 25th, But it's going to be soon.

You'd still get a plus score of three out of it since you might count kills as one point.

GoldenEye definitly set the benchmark for all FPS's that followed, and I mean ALL!

No other game, even to this day surpasses it's overall appeal. (Perfect Dark comes close though). GoldenEye was a major part of by later teenage years, especially 'cos back then I would rather play/hack GE than revise for my exams!

Man. I remember back when I was 2... and I played the Dam on agent.
I was like "AWWWWWWWWWW"
I'm 13 now, I still play the Dam on agent. I'm still like "AWWWWWWWWW"
This was the first game I ever played, it's hard to believe it's so old... It's as if it was made yesterday... I wish I was still bad at it. Now I just whoop everyone's asses... :'(

Well, just wait until medical science advances to the point where we can selectively remove memories, then delete your memory of how to play the game but not the fact that you like it. Razz

That would be pretty interesting. You could delete the memories of your favourite film, so that the next time you'd watch it, it'd be just like the first. Which, technically, would be that time. Though, not really, since you've already seen it. But you wouldn't remember it at all, so it didn't actually happen...

Or did it? Shocked
