A remastered version of Quake 2, made to run on modern consoles and the PC, been released, seemingly with little fanfare.

I won't be trying it, as I never liked the game, but *many* others loved it, and this package contains not only the original game, but both official episodes (map packs), the levels for the Nintendo 64 version of the game (original levels make exclusively for the N64 port), and a new episode made by the people who made Wolfenstein The New Order. And considering this is made by Night Dive Studios, who also made the Quake 1 remaster, then the Q2 remaster might see the occasional free add on episodes released for it, as happened with the Q1 remaster. For eight pounds it's great value for money.

Personally though, I wish NDS would have left off working on the Q2 remaster until they had released the console versions of System Shock Remastered, and the console version of System Shock 2 Extended Edition. SSR is currently only out on the PC, and S2 EE isn't out at all yet, but are due at any time.
