Its finally done. Exactly 250 lines of code (just like my science lab level, I'm getting pretty good at maxing out my available code) - I actually saved 44 lines of code by using working presets from the stack level plus a few compatible room pointers which didn't need to be modified. I think its safe to say I've crammed the absolute maximum number of objects into this level.

PJ64 - tested and working
Console - tested and working

Notes - Just like in the solo version, the glass panes are destructible only by explosives. The big screen works, the monitors work, and all regenerate after destruction.

Screenshots....

Now, the code.....

KNOWN ISSUES - This level doesn't always load properly on the console - if one of the bench/monitor combos initially spanws in the stairwell you'll have to reset. I have no idea what causes this, but it does load properly about half the time, so it must just be a gameshark issue and not a code issue.

Its not as simple as just picking lines of code to play parts of a level - you have to actually change the coordinates of the door blocks, change the coordinates of where characters spawn, and change weapon/ammo coordinates.

Hacking out a level like this is a fairly complicated process as every single object has to be custom placed into the level. Plus, the control room wasn't originally designed to be played as a multiplayer level so that makes things that much more complicated. Unless you know exactly what you are doing, tinkering with the above code will likely cause the game to crash.

Just curious - which parts of the level did you want to play? Most of the rooms outside of the area which I closed off suffer from major gameplay slowdown and blackout problems.

Just tried it, very cool level! I hope someone who has someone to play with can capture a video of them playing.

Yeah, I'd like to see a video myself. Preferably 4 players - I only own 3 controllers for my console so I wasn't even able to test it with 4 players - I'm curious to see how well framerates hold on 4 players - when I was testing with 3 players, framerates seemed to improve drastically once I blocked off multiple side rooms. Also, blackouts virtually disappeared (except for 4 player on the emulator, the one side room which I placed weapons/ammo in - the one with the stairs - did seem to experience some blackout depending on where the other 3 players in the level were located)

I may have somebody whom I can play the game with later this week - My computer has a video capture card so I'll post a video encoded from the console itself if I get to play.

Same problem.

I loaded it in the emulator (PJ64 with Rice 6.1.0c video), and I get music but no video.

Try using Jabo's Direct 3D8 1.6 video plugin.

I think it is the default plugin if you download PJ 64 v1.6 from their main website

No difference.

I also tried Rice 5.5.1. The same.

Are you giving the level enough time to load? Once the music starts, you'll have anywhere from 15-25 seconds (depending on the speed of your computer) before the level loads. You will hear music with a black screen. Then it will go.

If you're using the same exact software and plugins I'm using, I don't understand why it won't load.

I waited about 30 - 40 seconds. Zilch.

The music cuts out after about 10 - 15 seconds.

You might want to make sure you have all the code entered properly. Sounds like the game is freezing up on you.

Enable your "Show CPU usage" and see if your "Idle" jumps to 99.9 percent once the music cuts out. If that happens then you likely don't have all the code entered properly or all enabled.

At first I wondered if maybe I posted the code wrong in this thread, but SubDrag said he got it to work.

The idle jumped to 99%.

So what's the proper way to enter it and use it?
