I've gotta say, X Box controller definatley is the best for gaming, but I still love the N64 controller. Something about it was so awsome. Whaddya think? _________________ "Inspiration strikes but once.. If you're forgetful, carry a pen." -Me |

N-64 is probably my favorite, but for NES/SNES/Sega genesis emulation, my favorite controller (by FAR) is the pro-pad blue 6-button controller (its a standard game port PC controller). It has a grip like no other. |

I will say the Nintendo 64 controller is the best. I know they wasted a lot of plastic, but it's just wicked. Ultimately, it could easily be adapted for the next gen consoles with adding another analogue stick with the c buttons.
I've never been a huge ps controller fan, although it's decent enough. Little too cramped for me. I have a wicked logitech wireless for the PC that is great, but similar to the ps controller.
Lastly, wireless is wicked! I loved my wireless wavebird and actually made me want to play games more. Odd, but I hadn't used wireless until that stick and I loved it. |

Does Nintendo actually own a patent on the "design" of the N-64 controller? Because if they don't, I'm shocked that with its popularity we haven't seen a generic USB-form of the controller (much like the generic form of the PS controller) |

I think they might. The only thing Ive ever seen close to it was the controller for that old gamestation thing you'd plug into your TV. The one that had like every NES game ever made. _________________ "Inspiration strikes but once.. If you're forgetful, carry a pen." -Me |

That's a toss up for me.
Nintendo64's controller is super comfortable and versatile. There are two different areas you can grip your left hand onto, switching things up between games. It's a great design and easy to pickup after being away from it for a while.
PlayStation's controller is also very comfortable, even though it does seem somewhat cluttered with all the buttons and analogue sticks. However, everything is still easily accessible. It's got a nice layout and size. _________________
