I found the bug...was something so little, and very bad. Apparently if you have no 27XX presets, it screws up. Just fixed it, will let you know when I've uploaded a new version. Thank you very much for the bug report! Does this now work in-game?

Please please tell me any new bugs you find.

Please replace old exe with this one. Or you could redownload the installer, but it will overwrite setups so don't.

I had the same problem, you do not have to reinstall, Im not even sure the installation has that file. I guess this build of the GE Setup Editor needs that DLL for whatever reason (Im sure Sub knows), but it can be downloaded and used easily.

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx9_31

Just download that, unzip it and copy the DLL to the Goldeneye Setup Editor folder. It should work.

Oops. I've added it to the installer package, thanks for letting me know. That works now right? It also contains some minor fixes, such as a little bit into paths (I hope it works now, still probably doesn't work great), and a few things I can't remember.

A few months ago, before I even knew about the GoldenEye Setup Editor being back in production, I started condensing some of the multiplayer setup files, by removing unused presets. The less data there is to load, the less time it takes to begin the stage. Well, after thinking about it last night, I decided just to use the GoldenEditor to delete the unused presets and reorder the rest accordingly. Even though not all of them saw a significant improvement, others did see a big reduction in size. I did change a few of them manually, so that they would all end on 'F', by adding zeroes whenever necessary. That's how Rare did all of their files, which kept things in a better alignment. Here's the details...

Temple, Ump_setupdishZ.bin: 8.46 KB (8,672 bytes)
Condensed Setup File: 7.79 KB (7,984 bytes)

Complex, Ump_setuprefZ.bin: 7.21 KB (7,392 bytes)
Condensed Setup File: 6.50 KB (6,656 bytes)

Caves, Ump_setupoatZ.bin: 6.40 KB (6,560 bytes)
Condensed Setup File: 6.37 KB (6,528 bytes)

Library, Ump_setupameZ.bin: 16.7 KB (17,136 bytes)
Condensed Setup File: : 16.3 KB (16,752 bytes)

Basement, Ump_setupimpZ.bin: 8.57 KB (8,784 bytes)
Condensed Setup File: 5.15 KB (5,280 bytes)

Stack, Ump_setupashZ.bin: 14.3 KB (14,672 bytes)
Condensed Setup File: 13.0 KB (13,408 bytes)

Facility, Ump_setuparkZ.bin: 38.8 KB (39,776 bytes)

I am still am impressed that feature actually works hehe. It does quite a lot to delete and reorder, cross-references everything.

Theres a bug in that latest build, it doesnt compress as good anymore. Im working with Runway, and the mod I have currently "Quick Converts" fine with the older build. Now it says its too big. You cant even open up the original, re-save it and "Quick Convert" with that. Perhaps its using Zlib even though my Preferences indicate Gzip?

Update: I switched to Zlib and it worked. Simple bug, the two are switched in the new build. Temp Fix, change preferences to Zlib to get the Gzip effect.

Btw, the only "run-through" bug I found with Runway so far is the door that says "That door leads back into the gasplant!" does not have that text function anymore. Update: I think this has now been fixed.

Actually it does, you are probably accidently using the clipping part of the file. The setup is secretly snuck inside.

http://www.rarewitchproject.com/test/cituncompressedpart2.bin

You MUST compress and copy and replace the ROM manually however, editor doesn't support it right now. I believe the spot to place it is 845C9C.

I will be gone for about a week, please continue using the editor and posting any bugs/issues/comments/levels!

Also I believe Zoinkity's scale was: 0.576392 (not the default with the new editor package, that's the real citadel size, zoinkity modified it)

Download hex workshop or similar. In Setup Editor do Tools -> Compress File, then save as CitadelTemp.1172

Now open up Goldeneye.v64 (or rom), and open up CitadelTemp.1172. If your ROM is byteflipped (ROM says OGDLNE), make sure the beginning of CitadelTemp is 7211. If it is normal order (ROM says GOLDENEYE), make sure beginning is 1172. If it is the wrong one, select all in the compressed file CitadelTemp and do a 16-bit unsigned byteflip. Now, in Goldeneye.ROM select starting at address 845C9C, and select from that point to the compressed filesize. Now hit delete, go to the 1172 file, select all and copy, then paste into the rom, and now load up the ROM.
