Yes, you've heard it first. Rare just released map pack 2 yesterday for free and it includes 2 maps; Facility and Temple. It's awsome!
Here is a link to prove it, if ever I can find video footage, I'll post the link here.

The old memories are coming back to me with Next-gen graphics!

Am I the only one who thinks those levels look hideous and wrong in their PD:Zero forms and it looks like a bad Half-life 2 mod? |

The Facility does seem a little strange. They kept the whole concept of the building being left abandoned and beaten down, then multiplied it. The processing rooms are completely trashed. The vents are even more awkward than they were in Felicity. I'm not big on the pipes lining the walls and ceilings, either. Those pictures make the stage feel kind of wide, very unlike the original. Overall, I can't say that I like it.
The Temple is interesting, though. It does remind me a lot of some Half-Life mods I've seen, as SubDrag had mentioned. I wouldn't mind seeing some more of that one.
Facility - Complex?
Temple - Ruins?
English - Francais? _________________

Well it looks better when you play it in motion...especially in 720p resolution.
The reason it looks like that is because PDZ's art style is in a way a bit cartoonish (mixture of goldeneye and timesplitters series)
The only thing they messed up and I agree with the post above this one are the 2 opposites rooms where we use to meet the scientist in Goldeneye. I think they definately did that on purpose because in those 2 rooms, they added a hole in the ceiling showing a snowy sky with snowflakes falling.
...That lets us believe they might add an extension to that map is they do decide to do a third map pack...although Rare is busy working on the next Banjo Kazooie game...we'll never know.
Since most of you don't own an Xbox 360, I'll be honest with you, I am a big Goldeneye fan and when I've played those maps last night, it brought back amazing memories... The best gametype so far on these maps are team killcount and eradication (counter-strike style, one life, buy your own weapons).
If any of you played these maps on PDZ, post your thoughts.
p.s. The facility is identical to the one in Goldeneye, Ruins is a reference to Temple from Goldeneye (exact same room locations, and pathways, even the 2 holes in the wall on the main floor; if you throw a grenade, it will actually explode in the other room below you). Obviously, those screenshots were taken from a french website. _________________

It's great to have you on the boards Goldn. Love the screenshots that you post. I'm unsure about these levels. I must see and play for myself and decide from there. I'm curious if these releases have stirred up some interest in the game or not? A part of me want the 360 and buy pdzero now. |

Thank you If you do end up playing the game, you will have a hard time with the controls. If you do, come back here and i'll put up a guide for the controls, but you should enjoy it, especially the 32 players online. _________________

How can playing against thirty-one other people be fun? I even feel like the eight other simulants in PD is often too many. It makes the stages cramped, weapons harder to acquire, and deaths more frequent. It's a bloody fragfest, all it is. Shoot anything you see moving. There's an opponent around every turn. Far too many for my liking. I still believe that sixteen is too much. I'd say a max of eight players would be plenty, though four is what I'd prefer playing. _________________

Yea the facility looks like a dump, and the torch crap makes the temple (hope its that and not the facility) look weird too. Please no one quote all of those screen shots, that would make 1 post be a page. _________________ .+*"*+..+*"*+..+*"*+..+*"*+..+*"*+..+*"*+.

The maps are huge and they have variants. If you set the variant on a map on small, the max. is 16 players. Facility and Temple have max. 8 players...Imagine 32 players on facility, it would be chaos. _________________

Rare wanted to re-create the feel of those maps and it feels exactly like Facility did on the N64...although they could have done a bit better re-creating it exactly like it was in the original game. _________________

From a general perspective the only differences that count are the controll setting and how many people want to play you and their preferences.
Where isn't as important as 'how' and 'what'. If we do have a ww tournament on the Wii we need a custom made level by a third party that would fit into Goldeneye. I never get tired of old and new things with this game. _________________ A.K.A. Greatermaxim on youtube.
