Microsoft Extends Xbox 360 Warranty

Date Posted : 12/23/06 Posted By : patinahelix

In a move to benefit customers, Microsoft Corp. announced today that it will change the Xbox 360™ warranty from 90 days to one year from the date of purchase in the United States and Canada. Microsoft extended the warranty in these territories to be consistent with the standard one-year Xbox 360 warranty that is available throughout most of the world. The news is reason to celebrate this holiday season; it applies to both would-be purchasers and those who already have Xbox 360 and are still within their first year of ownership.

That's refreshing news.
I may still be in my first ninety days of ownership, but that really isn't enough time to tell whether or not your console is going to crap out on you. My GameCube ended up encountering massive disc read errors only a few days after the warranty expired. Days! Atleast now I'm not kicking myself for disregarding the extended warranty on my Xbox 360. Hopefully the freezing that has occured during gameplay twice so far is only due to it being a used game. Time will tell. Thankfully, now I have even more time to tell. Smile

I think my very used copy of battlefield 2 screwed up my Xbox 360...I really hope not because I don't always buy games new unless I really want it!
