The code limit without an expansion pak is either 10 or 15, I can't remember which. Either one is useless though.

Hunter - search ebay for an N64 RAM expansion pak - they're very common and you should be able to pick one up easily for $8 or 9 bucks. And it takes about a minute to install it.
