| Neither one is best they are both equally good. Personally I use an emulator for some games and a gameshark for others. |

Console. I can't stand playing on emulators for some reason, I'd much rather be playing the real thing. I bought a SNES copier to play hacks and fan translations on for that reason, unfortunately I've run into more than one thing that refused to run on the real hardware because people only tested on inaccurate emulators. There are a few emulators that strive for perfect accuracy but it seems a lot of people don't bother using them for testing their work.
Anyway, I have plans to buy an N64 copier in the future for Goldeneye hacks alone, it's worth it to me.
Edit: And I just realized I completely misread the poll. Obviously I was referring to my preferred way to play games, not hack them. I've never really done much work with codes but for ROM hacking I'm very happy I have emulators, I'd probably go insane if I had to send a ROM to my copier every time I had to test a small change. |
