well i find it dishonorable to kill an unarmed opponent if they have just spawned, especially if its license to kill mode, but if the other player does it i do it too. besides that, i think anything goes

I consider that entirely fair, it's part of the game.

[quote="Wreck"]There's only these three that we all will agree on...
a) No attacking an unarmed opponent while armed.
b) No spawn chasing.
c) No camping.

No killing unarmed has always been the house rule. The exception is when somebody is an idiot and goes slap-happy. Heck, I personally refuse killing unarmed even on LTK. Less rigid about camping, because it is nearly impossible to really pull it off with the custom weapon sets ;*)

Mining spawn points makes you target #1. For that, they suffer the cruel fate of getting klobb-ered into their own mines.

In any mode, we always allow killing unarmed Smile Unless in a generous mood and somebody goes smug with a big lead - then they pay for it.

I think the no killing an unarmed opponent will last about as long as you can take losing badly. Just the truth sorry. You have a slapper, you aren't actually unarmed. It's a game of killing. The most kills win. We did have friends who had that rule, came to our place, starting losing and complaining, and then dropped their no killing unarmed rule. They could play that way, but that meant losing badly. Let's face it. There is no honor in a game where the goal is to kill your opponent as much as possible.

I don't think I've had it degenerate yet. We're in it not to lay waste to as many people as possible though, but to have long crazy gunfights. The favorite one is to have everyone walk over to different corners of Citadel's pillar room, get fully stocked on BA and ammo, and have a crazy rc-p90 fest in the pillars.

I don't find any fun or pride in attacking an unarmed opponent. I'd rather run past them and collect more ammo, until they've acquired a weapon to properly defend themselves with. Yes, they have a slapper. But what's a slapper to do against an RC-P90? Gunning them down doesn't feel rewarding, but cheap. It's basically like getting a free point. And there's nothing worse than being slaughtered as soon as you've spawned in.

That's the difference between most online games and GoldenEye. In GE, there's a maximum of four people playing at one time. You can see everyone's screen and what they're doing. That way, you know who is armed and who isn't. Where they are and who they're coming after. But in game's like Halo and Half-Life, it's a frantic scramble to frag whatever crosses your field of vision. You can't take the time to find out if they're weilding a weapon or not, because by the time you do, you could already be dead. There's too many people running around to bother being honourable. It's kill or be killed - every five seconds.

Hey, that sounds like a lot of fun, we'll have to try that some time.

You pretty much described why this is still my favorite multiplayer shooter of all time and why I didn't like Halo.

Here are the main rules of any goldeneye game.

1. Do Not Shoot Un-armed opponents.

2. No Suicide Rockets

3. If we are playing power weapons don't camp next to the strongest gun(this goes for all weapon sets as well)

4. Game Shark Codes are only used for new levels Wink (thanks bmw for Bottling Room!)

5. Close Range Sniping is not cool!

6. If you loose..you all buy us food and crap at Chili's!

I like your guys take! I would suggest that in most situations online I won't target the unarmed opponent. It's about having fun and by no means is a slaughter fun for guys just getting back into GE. So I'm more considerate online. Having said that, in a competitive situation, if you are there I will kill you. No hesitation...and if you get mad about it? The the mission was a success.
