Which normally playable mission do you hate, and why?

I don't like Conrol; the segment where you protect Natalya is especially annoying, since it lasts around 2 minutes and there are guards that shoot her through glass. In fact, those guards caused me to restart multiple times. Even worse, after the glass is broken, you have to look in 3 or 4 places at once!

Control for me, too! It's very annoying - especially if you are getting the time cheat!

Definitely. I hate having to restart every time Natalya dies. However, getting the Infinite Ammo cheat isn't much harder than playing through the level normally, but playing through is frustrating enough.

Probably Surface ii for me.
Too gloomy of an atmosphere and all the guards rush you randomly.

Plus, most guards contain Klobbs.
Too easy + boring.

Statue Park = boring and looks bad, I think it got bad level design also, very repetitive

Streets = like Statue Park, the tank is useless, funny idea ruined.

Surface (both) = Long distances are boring to run, you must know where to go, and find those keys, it is quite annoying

Cradle = Trevelyan is annoying, being so tough, bad mission for being last

Caverns = Good action, but tube-kind level design

Egypt = Pointless map in every way

"Control Protect Natalya" is very bad, but I like the level otherwise, there is plenty of action, and it is quite hard, even without the protection part.

Statue is my least favorite because its so dark i can barely see and yes it is boring.

I was going to say Control initially, because of the protect Natalya objective but then I thought about it a bit more. I like Control, it's a great map with good objectives, even protect Natalya is a good objective, it's just annoyingly difficult.

So I'm going to say Streets, because there's so much wasted potential there. Rare was great at turning short, almost pointless sections of the movie into full maps and missions with lots of objectives. Depot is a perfect example of this, a scene that lasted no more than a few seconds in the movie got turned into a mission about disrupting Janus operations as much as possible before getting on the train.

Streets is the opposite of this, the chase scene in GoldenEye was the scene in that movie, every time you see it advertised they focus on that scene. Why did Rare reduce such a cool sequence to a simple race against a timer? It's evident that they had something much better planned, but probably had to drop it because of time constraints. I wouldn't doubt it if Streets was the last map and mission created.

The first thing that's clearly missing from the mission is Ourumov's car, we know it was there, the preset is in place and there's an action block to move it as soon as Bond gets close to it. Why was it cut? I have a feeling they just didn't have the time to get it working as good as they wanted, the car slams into a wall shortly after it starts moving, they probably wanted it to weave around buildings and cars "intelligently," maybe taking different paths through the stage each time.

There's also the fact that the jeep can be made to move; the jeep looks pretty stupid moving, there's no driver! I suspect they wanted to be able to put a guard in them, maybe even another one to shoot at you from the back like the movie, but couldn't get it done in time. Or maybe not, maybe they just cut them because they looked stupid moving without a driver.

There are six civilians yet only one is used in the mission. We know why this is, the city blocks, tanks, guards, and Valentin already eat up a ton of textures and they probably couldn't have included them anyway. Still, the fact that they made six of the guys shows they had a lot planned for the mission.

And let's not forget all the missing textures related to this stage, traffic lights, road signs, clocks, etc. All things that would make perfect sense to be thrown about a city, but mysteriously absent from Streets. I suppose there's a possibility that, like the hanging lamps, these were originally going to be sprites and were cut for the same reason as the lamps. Just having a few of these things in the map would've livened it up a little bit, made it less repetitive, made it "realer."

My point is, Streets had a ton of potential to be one of the game's coolest missions - why did they give us the awful race against the clock mission we got?

I agree with you Dragonsbrethren! Also, Streets ended with Bond entering a gateless area with nothing beyond it - maybe it was the last mission created!

I also agree. Streets is probably my 2nd least favourite mission after Control. In fact, I almost chose Streets, but Control won because it is so tedious.

i dont know why people think control is so hard its easy for me the only trouble i ever had were the gun turrets at the start but i find disabling them pretty simple. the aztec was hard for me becuase of the guards and the turrets. its not so easy on OO agent but when i beat aztec it drove me crazy! egpytian was so simple and start forward.
