In the Dam level, where the Russian Commandant is, I always thought that Rare made that part of the level up to make the level more complete. HOWEVER, if you watch this deleted scene from GoldenEye, you can see that Rare made this part of the map based on that!

Also, notice the archives textures on the walls!

Yeah, they did a really good job, and I think most of the changes they made were for the better.

Did they get the deleted scene then? Or a pre-cut of movie?

Rare were on the set for most of the filming of GoldenEye, apparently.

Plus they must have deleted that scene for pacing reasons literally before it's release.

Having had another look at the deleted scene, another idea came to mind...

I was thinking that in the beta Dam, you would have had to place some sort of data scrambler on the dish to disrupt the signal, so the commandant would open the gate, like in the clip. Just a thought!

Imagine if Rare but the dogs in aswell! that would have been cool!

I wish I could view this pre-titles, never-seen-before footage, deleted scene from Goldeneye the movie. YouTube removed that video as of June 2010, and I can't find the streaming video of it online anywhere.

I do own Goldeneye on VHS, as my dad bought it in 1996 or so. And I'd like to watch this deleted scene!! Doesn't owning it on VHS count for anything?!?

Anyways, does anybody else know where it's at online to watch?? If so, please share.

I know I wanted to watch it too. I have Goldeneye on dvd but I dubbed it from vhs so all I have is the movie, no added features. Sad Even though I didn't see the deleted scene I must say they did follow the movie closely. I think it's the best game based off of a movie that I have ever played. I remember I played the game first and then saw the movie like 2 years later and I remember saying, "They made a movie about this game?" and a couple month's later I figured out I had it backwards lol. Anyways I agree with kwakkles, if someone finds that deleted scene please let us know. Thanks Smile

Is the scene on the DVD release? I don't remember there even being a deleted scene section on the disc...

I think it was only included in a special boxed set, along with two or three other Bond films. I have two different copies of GoldenEye on DVD, but neither of them feature a deleted scenes section. Hopefully the Blu-ray copy will, even if it seems to be taking them forever to release it. I want GE in high-def, damn it! Razz

And welcome to the board, Shutsuji. Smile

I can confirm that the Ultimate Edition DVD of Goldeneye does have this and the other deleted scenes, introduced and explained by the director Cool

Indeed.

They are the following:

Dodging the Gaurds: Provides the explanation of how the Dam gate is opened, also a telephone wire is cut. I love the continuity with the marching being played on their flickering TV, the mysterious Bond's eyes only being shown, and his wraith like stealth akin to that of his bathroom escapades.

No Deal: Now this scene would have been brilliant and sadly is not included in the final movie. Zukovsky dealing with a gun runner who is selling cheap counterfeit rubbish with dodgy firing pins. The gun runner character would have fitted in with the already very stong supporting cast.

Bond rides with Wade/Natalya in the Graveyard: No matter how short these scenes are, I love them. Campbell really created an unique feeling with this film. The eerieness of the graveyard, the grave digger and the church.

No Bugs in the Program: Nice little scene with Ouromov disconnecting Boris's computer, fearing his practising will be noticed. Ouromov then threatens he will have to call the exterminator. More screentime for Gottfried John and Alan Cumming would have been excellent.

This is a very cool deleted scene I found. I think it's a copy of the video that youtube removed. Check it out here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNGaTRvthAQ&feature=related
