With a game that was as popular as GE, you would think with the opportunity to play it online there would be a lot more people out there gaming away on kaillera. When I discovered GE Master's site and kaillera a few months back, I thought it was the greatest thing ever. I guess in a perfect world every time I log on there would be a couple of waiting GE games, but that has happened maybe once or twice. SSB is fun and all......it would just be nice to see more GE games out there.

I always want to play GE, but I ask players over MSN/AIM now. my ping went over 100 in the NY Server so, ofcourse I added other good servers. but since then I didn't wait for GE players. and I forget to be in the GE chat :/ I want to be, but it's not in my mind for some weird **** reason.
you have always a player, ME. add me:

I made a post about this on the official NGPA forums a while back. It's too tricky and time consuming for the average gamer to set up. And when it is working right, it's buggy and lacking in features. The majority wants an XBL style experience, not this "jerry-rigged" substitute.

As long as it stays like this, GE online via emulation will be no greater in size than a kid's treehouse club...

It isn't that difficult to set up, the steps on www.goldeneyeonline.com are fairly clear. Yes it can be a bit buggy, but lacking in features? The whole game is there and with all the custom patches out there I don't see how you can say lacking in features. The Xbox Live version isn't going to happen, so this is the best we got.

When Mupen64K first came out and emulated Goldeneye finally worked online there were loads of players and games going on. It has quieted down lately but don't forget that many people use the P2P connection method instead of kaillera. P2P is far better than kaillera for 2 player games (especially across the atlantic).

The problem is that "the best we got" isn't good enough for the average gamer (people that like GoldenEye, but don't obsess over it like we do).

Server play is easier and faster to set up, therefore it would be the preferred method for our target audience (who I described above). I have a feeling that most P2P GE online players are hardcore GE fans like us.

Let me put it bluntly. Most people are greedy and lazy. We aren't. Neutral

Man I've only played ONE match of Goldeneye multiplayer in the past FIVE years!!

My friends wont play me cuz they never win, and I have never found a SINGLE person on Kalleira or whatever it's called. I'm in with speedrun trainer and the poster of this thread -- we need to start tournaments and scheduled games, i say.

Aim is too resource-hogging for me because even though i have 8 gigs i still have vista 64 and the editor AND XP and ANOTHER editor open most of the time. Or I'm recording my album which basically equals that. If I'm not doing that I'm doing photoshop or something else intensive.

I've only had a few online, but I've had tons of Turok Rage Wars matches. Very Happy
