My Gameshark N64 is locked on key codes and I have 3 games to choose from to buy to unlock it. Should I get Cruisin' World or Yoshi's Story, or, F-Zero? Which do you think is the best game? the main point is to unlock the gameshark, but if I could pick up a good game for my money that'd be sweet too. _________________ I Am A Huge Western Black Dragon That Can Torch An Entire Village To The Ground In MINUTES. Personally, I didn't really care for Yoshi's Story, but there's quite a few people who enjoyed it. Cruis'n World and F-Zero X are both in the racing genre, so there's not much variety for you. It really depends on what you're into. Action / Adventure, or Racing. _________________

Ya Yoshi's story was like a bland, 3d version of Yoshi's Island for the SNES. I'd opt for F-Zero. Its a classic racing game
Cruis'n Worlds was good just not my style _________________ "Inspiration strikes but once.. If you're forgetful, carry a pen." -Me |

Excellent. Well, I liked Cruisin' World in the arcade. Is it like that? That was an awesome arcade game. _________________ I Am A Huge Western Black Dragon That Can Torch An Entire Village To The Ground In MINUTES. Fear me humans! |

Both Yoshi and Cuisn' are good games for many people (I prefer Yoshi over Cruisn'), but then again, there's also a good deal of people that didn't like them, anyway, even for people that liked them, they were not rated as higher as other better games.
F-Zero X is king in its genre, loved and revered by many, but then there are people that don't like it all, like an ex-friend of mine who says it's just a silly space-ship racing game (and no, that was not the reason we stopped being friends ).
In the end, it's a matter of taste. Any recommendations we may give you are going to be based on someone's taste. The speaker's own or someone else's being relaid by him.
I'd recommend you go read some review and watch videos on youtube, they are sure to give you a better idea of what would be best for you.
Google and Youtube are not your friends (I don't like when people say that), but they can come in handy |

I think USA was better than World in cruisn' series, so F-Zero, 'cause it has multiplayer.

Well I tried it out. I love the Cruisin' World. It's brings back memories of when in our old Pizza Hut I would put in a couple quarters and race on that game on the arcade machine. Sat in the seat and everything. _________________ I Am A Huge Western Black Dragon That Can Torch An Entire Village To The Ground In MINUTES. Fear me humans!

Yes, quite. However it is not illegal if you buy the game is it.
Of which I am going to, come tomorrow. _________________ I Am A Huge Western Black Dragon That Can Torch An Entire Village To The Ground In MINUTES. Fear me humans! |

I don't blame you for wanting to test out a game before purchasing it. Besides, how many places still rent out N64 games? Emulation is a good alternative. It also helped prove to you that it's worth buying. _________________

well, it depends who you ask.
many rich and powerful bastards say it is, they even want second hand market for copyrighted stuff to be ilegal, so it's better if you just keep it to yourself.
People here have their own opinions on the matter and nobody wants to be police, but nowadays even the slightest mention of it can potentially and arbitrarily get people into trouble.
Unless you are committed to campaign against that its just wiser you don't say publicly that you do that kind of stuff.
Anyway, hope you enjoy your new game/gs-unlocker!

Well I tried Cruisin' World on BOTH of my gamesharks, after cleaning it, and you guessed it. Didn't unlock the gameshark. How the heck am I supposed to know what keycode it's locked on! I'm so frustrated! _________________ I Am A Huge Western Black Dragon That Can Torch An Entire Village To The Ground In MINUTES. Fear me humans! |

Let me ask you something before you buy yet another game.
when you power the system on with the gameshark plugged in, what happens exactly:
A: Nothing shows up, no video signal.
B: You see a black/corrupt screen
C: You see the GS logo and then, instead of the menu, you get a black/corrupt screen
If you get "A", you should keep trying with other games and you may solve the problem.
If using certain cart/s you get either B or C, you have the correct one but your GS is corrupt. |

Hmm, this is strange. If you've managed to try a game for each Keycode, it should've loaded by now. I wonder if something else may be at fault?
I'd also suggest taking a Q-Tip (or other brand cotton swab) and cleaning your GameShark. You'd be surprised by how much black crap you can get off of the board. This often helps my finicky GameShark's start. They're a valuable tool to have around. Use a decent amount of pressure and becareful around the more complex parts. The most important area to clean is the bottom, where it slides into your console. _________________
