Leftover in the game, is an extra door meant to be used in the Train. It is nearly identical to the wooden slider with glass, but also features a metallic shutter. The door doesn't perform exactly right, so it wasn't utilized. However, it wasn't until just recently, that I noticed where they got the inspiration for this object...

As Bond springs for the door closing behind Trevelyan and Xenia...

The bulletproof shutters close over the glass...

Same room and door in the Editor...

In-Game, with Area Behind Door Visible...

In-Game, with Area Behind Door Not Visible...

When the door opens, the shutter simply disappears. Whether it slides or swings. I haven't found a way around this using bitflags, but others are welcome to try (this is object 0A3, by the way). If Rare couldn't figure out how to correct this issue, it's possible that they scratched the idea of using this door, and instead had large shutters lock down the whole area. The end product probably would've felt more cinematic, anyway. It also makes it easier for Trevelyan and Xenia to get away.

That's a great observation. Now I need to see the movie again. I love how stuff keeps being noticed after all these years. I should compile it all to a web site again when I get a chance.

I know about the door an everything. With the cheats Turbo and fast animation on i can sweep under it.But sometimes after i got into the room the try to shoot me or they just vanish. Shocked you can kill one of them if you have a scope or zoom in gun, right before you enter the room With the girl and the general scope in and shoot their head.if you shoot Exeina she will say ''WAIT ALEC IVE BEEN SHOT'' and she is already dead. But i think in the game if you go behind the door their in front of its blank though i think thats where their helecopter supposed to be in the movie and the game. Yeah, little things like this are great, and really show how much effort the GE team but into the tiniest detail. It seems likely that since the shutter only works when the portal is closed the door would probably close and lock behind you after entering the last room, with the area behind door visible flag set. After killing Ourumov an action block would remove that flag, and/or set not visible, and close the portal revealing the shutter. It would have been a nice effect, may have been scrapped because it would be too easy to step into the room, then quickly back peddle out and get trapped, forcing the player to abort.

I wonder if you can shoot bullets through it.

As far as I could tell, the glass can't be broken out. The bullets connect with the shutter and leave faint bullet holes behind. I'm not sure if weapons with greater penetration can shoot through it, but I'd imagine they would. Whether or not that would affect the glass, I haven't tested.
