Yeah, and it's not like a scripted game has to play out that way, just look at GoldenEye, I'd say 80-90% of the things that happen in its missions are scripted, yet it doesn't feel like it and you have a good deal of freedom to explore. Let's use Dam as an example, that one Russian soldier always runs for the alarm, but you can do whatever you want to stop him. If that happened in Quantum the action would freeze entirely, the view would focus on the soldier running, and if you were lucky you'd get a chance to shoot him. If you were unlucky, the game would force you to wait until he rang the alarm (while Bond stood around doing nothing like an idiot) and the other guards came running to return control to the player.
I finished this game on the easiest difficulty a few days ago, it really is short. I started it on the next highest, and am almost done with it again. I haven't noticed any increase in difficulty at all... |
