Hi,
Since I am gonna play some goldeneye this weekend I could need some advice/tips from good players. Little things that are good to know in multiplayer. I am playing on the N64.
Do you guys use the aim button a lot? Or just go for body shots while strafing?
Anyway, all help is appreciated as I would like to win |

Strafing is a good option, and try and get the best weapon before your enemy and just incase, body armour _________________ Also known as Spyster or Nyxem

Never use the aim button unless you're using it to crouch, learn to aim for headshots at all times using the C-buttons/analog stick alone depending on your control style. The only time I use the aiming crosshair in multiplayer is to track opponents while crouched. |

look at other players' screens!
and yes, don't use the aiming thing. I never used it much unless for crouching and sniping. I'm surprised how overused it is in, for example, youtube videos. I see they approach an enemy, and stop trying to aim at them... that's not too efficient and you get overexposed to enemy fire. |

Memorizing weapon locations helps a lot, especially when you are looking for the powerful weapons.
Also, memorizing spawn points in the levels can give you an advantage. |

SUPER helpful when you're not playing with "No spawn kills".
Also, just getting a general feel of the actual maps you're likely to be playing. |

He also said out straight that he was looking screen and it was sooo good. To this day I still have the layout of that map in my head ;P I will post my results for any interested to read when I have played |

Pistols in the Archives is very good with 2 or more players. You will always be close to wear a player re-starts after being shot so get used to where these are and start taking pot shots at the various locations aiming at where their head will be. With a Magnum, they will go down with one shot and it is very annoying. A couple of times you will get lucky with this so give it a go.
Blowing up body armour is a dirty trick and even sneakier is trying to hide a mine underneath where one lies.
Learn to close doors and walls as soon as you go through them, this is a very useful technique
Deprive other players of ammo
Hang around where the good guns are
Learn which guns can shoot through which walls and glass plate windows
Face up against a wall with no particular features so that the other players do not know where you are and then ambush them!
Rockets in The Library is great. you can employ a similar technique as the Archives because you can pretty much reach the other player(s) from most locations.
Also on this level with rockets fire them a little distance in front and behind your opponent (or victim!) when they are up on the catwalks so they are trapped between the blasts!
Get to know the levels. Those like the Complex takes ages to suss out. That level in particular in genius in my view.
Some of those should anyway! |

Now there's the best advice!
I find that even while losing, I'm still enjoying myself. How many other games can you really say that about? Most just frustrate you and make you want to break your controller / keyboard over your own head. _________________

learn to count. trick i picked up playin Q3. everything has a 20 respawn timer. when you or your opponent pick up a weapon or body armor start counting. And be there in 20 sec. Try and find a good line that connects most of the good items and a body armor together and run laps. A lap closest to 20 is ideal to hog the items. But Q3 had a hud timer to make this task easier |

True, this is such a great game!
I have practiced a little; picked up where I left with the old account and finished Silo on 00A after quite a lot of tries. Then I tried Cradle on 00A :O That is soo hard lol, kept running into nades or getting ambushes by lots of Alec's minions :/ But finally I was able to get it after a gazillion tries or so.. I was getting a bit nervous that I wasn't gonna get any sleep.
It's now 3 AM .. Good Night
PS: What great fun;) |

Game night done. It was great fun but unfortunately not too much goldeneye.
After some Mario Cart one of the guys I was sitting with asked if we should change game to goldeneye so we did and had a 1v1 on temple with automatics. I went 10-0. Then another guy wanted to be in and he should have played it quite some as a child so it might be interesting. So it was a 3 player ffa on a random map which turned out to be bunker, again with automatics I think. I was able to prevent them from even shooting each other just barely and it turned out with 20-0-0.
Then I asked if we should do a 3vs1 and got another guy. Automatics on Complex. After 14-0-0-0 noone of them wanted to play anymore. I then asked around and asked the guy that probably bragged the most about how good he was at the game but he didn't wanna play.
Later in the night a guy that hadn't played was up for a game and then the guy I played with from the start wanted too so I then went to handicap -4 to make it more fun and just screwed around with slapper and guns and occational a more powerful weapon if I felt I needed some kills. Next game I went to handicap -10 and screwed around again though I did need to be more serious at times. These 2 last games were probably the the most fun for all involved and even a girl seemed to have fun with the game. |
