Enjoy it!
Tip: Hi-resolution mode is nice, but it's slow.
If you find yourself in serious trouble it's better to turn it off, at least while you deal with the enemy hordes xD.
Luckily resolution can be changed at any time during the game just from the pause menu, so you don't have to restart a mission or anything. |

Yeah, I didn't even realize how much the Hi-Res mode really effects the performance of the game. Just recently, I was wandering around in the Carrington Institute and going over all the options. It's been a while since I sat down and actually played it, so I wanted to get familiar with it all again. Anyway, I was checking out parts of the stage, with and without Hi-Res activated. You could feel the difference as you moved, even in areas without many characters. It just felt slower and more choppy. Though it does look a little nicer, it's better without it. _________________

Yeah, that happened to me too.
Back then I was not too aware of some common practical notions about computers and just thought that the high resolution option was provided by the expansion pak alone and it didn't even cross my mind that performance could be affected. I just switched low res in ocassions and though "looks like crap, I'll keep high res" xD. Poor ignorant me. It plays so much smoother in lores. It really affects gameplay in sticky situations.
In fact, I believe now that a good deal of my hardships playing the game were because of my ignorant insistence in using hires for the visuals.
I should give it a try to the remnants of the game I couldn't complete and finish it off already. |

I never noticed any different between lores and hires on my old TV. It makes a huge difference in how the game on my new one though, more than I ever would have expected. |
