Hey I love this game so much. I was wondering if my Goldeneye 007 on console runthroughs would be of the slightest interest to anyone here. I figure this is a GoldenEye site, so it might be a good idea. I practice hard on my speedruns through this game, and I wish to share it with somebody. No I do not have videos, but if worse comes to worse I will video the TV. Any ideas?

Well see I have studied Wouter Jansen's runs. It really is not as difficult as it looks. But you do have to practice everyday. I fail miserably if I have not practiced for a week or something. My parents just think it all a waste of time. they don;t understand.

To Bowser N64, yes, he is great guy who visits here time to time, he has some great speedruns for Goldeneye... I just still wait some PD runs from him also...

No they never understand. LOL. And yes I have studied his videos carefully, but not on the elite site there. Do you know how he ever got so good at the game? and what drives him? I find it almost work to practice and I almost always mess SOMETHING up. A clean run is a rarity.

Well I just got stopped at the Control level, as usual. That level is so hard because the guys come from all directions. It's truly a feat when one can beat that level with no problems. there also is excessive waiting, such as when Natalya is typing on the keyboard to open the door in the beginning. Any way to bypass the waiting?
Watching Wouter makes me feel so small and insignificant. I feel I could never be THAT good.

Alright. I am getting MUCH better than I used to be, and I have a problem with Agent Frigate. I follow the run exactly as Wouter does(Except the fancy helicopter part), but then I can never get the two hostages freed in the short amount of time he does it in (which is incredible). What happens is I get to the boat and am about to go in, waiting for "Objective A: Complete" to come on screen, and it often never does it in a good amount of time. So, how does he get it to work so fast? Is it perhaps the way he performs the part of planting the Tracker Bug on the helicopter, maybe making the log of what goals have been complete and have not been completed run faster? I am stumped. My best time is like 40 seconds on the level.

My best time on the Frigate on 00 Agent is 1:33. That's without the fancy trick of chucking the tracker bug from that back, door I just wouldn't have the patience to practice that.
Regarding the completion of objective A; Rescue hostges, I find that occassionally they can get caught up amongst a group of guards who have been on your trail. This happens particularly in the engine room. I enter that room on the side where the bomb is and when I approach the computer I kneel down to shoot the guard holding the hostage over in the far corner. I find that the hostage then can get caught directly under the computer amongst a cluster of guards in that narrow walk through. They look like they're having a party.
You sometimes see them running around outside like headless chickens. This sometimes leads me to pump them full of lead out of frustration! |

I see. Well Wouter does not even go into the engine room on his run. He frees the two hostages in the upper level closest where you come in to start the level. Watch the videos. Amazing, they are. It is hard to explain what he does, and I am tired and need sleep. We dragons even need sleep too.

Right, I was thinking of the 00 Agent objectives but in Agent you don't need to disarm the bombs.
I can't answer your question about how objective A completed so quickly on his run but he may have done it over and over until he got this time and may have never come close to it since. |

I know you were talking about doing it on 00 Agent difficulty, but Wouter is just no t the guy to go through everything as is average in the normal runs. He finds awesome shortcuts. I have not even TRIED 00 Agent yet. The only course I do a run through on 00 Agent is Egyptian, in about 1:03.
