I generally like old games better than new ones. Call me a purist if you want, but I don't like some trends seen in newer games (like lack of challenge). I'm not saying I hate all current-gen games, I just prefer older games for their traditionalism. |

Yes, last gen games showed a great interest from their graphisim (like DKC and SMW) cuz since SMW it have been improved but it began to be more realist when DKC came on the market. Also the gameplay was simple and easy to control with a few buttons and a pad and you took tricks and tips to do easy things.
However after completed a game, it takes less than time and you are bored to do the same game. To avoid to be bored, just to take time to find new tricks, glitches, time trial to pass the game, anyway to do something else. |

I like the possibilities that new games present. They allow game makers to take a lot more liberty in putting exactly what they want to put into a game..
But I'll always prefer the games I grew up on _________________ "Inspiration strikes but once.. If you're forgetful, carry a pen." -Me |

I have more fun with a good number of older games I have never played at the time than with most newer games.
So for me it's not even the nostalgia factor, but the intrinsic quality of older games compared with 99% of the new ones. |

Many of the older games (especially SNES and N64 titles) strived to be the best. The designers put in so much effort to make them both fun and interesting. But nowadays, they focus too heavily on the graphics. They may be very pretty and quite realistic, but are they fun? About the only thing keeping many of the new games afloat is online play. That's something consoles of the past never had. So for them to be still be exciting to this day is really a testament to their craftsmanship. _________________

I agree with you 99%, but on SNES they really start focusing on graphics too much, there were millions of bad StreetFighter/MortalKombat copies and side scrolling beat 'em ups everywhere. Of course SNES had awesome games, but most of the later titles start to do the same things over and over again. |

I play mostly older games. Chess being one of the oldest? I suppose I could take up jousting(sp?). _________________ A.K.A. Greatermaxim on youtube.

Clearly old games!
Todays games are all the same. They're way too easy, you pretty can never die because of an automatic regeneration system. Not only that, most of the time they're bug full.
The 90's games were the best tho. _________________
