As opposed to almost everyone here, i maintain constant surveillance on my opponent, nearly to the degree that i look more at their screen than my own depending on the map. deride me all you want, but having complete awareness to an opponents whereabouts is a vital part of GE multiplayer, and anyone who doesn't commit to this practice will have no chance of defeating a good player. (we do, on occasion, cover up each others screens on mupen with various windows so that it is impossible to see opponents screen. This, of course, is impossible on console for obvious reasons. However, it is an interesting diversion for online emu play)
That being said, i am a complete anti-exponent of spawn killing (primarily the "link 5 kills consecutively by killing the person right when they spawn and memorizing the proximity pattern"). and do my best to combat it in all of my maps, primarily by placing spawns as far away from each other as possible/close to weapon locations. (the same can't be said for a lot of other hacked maps, though, if multi mappers played more, they'd know this![well, another issue is that some maps are too small/not enough cover, but not much can be done about that]) |

Calling looking at other players screen cheating is just ridicilous if you dont do it you give other opponent huge advantage over you and you probably aren't too good player if you can't look at other players screen while playing. And No-radar cheat has little to none effect when its turned on or off since most good players know all maps by heart.
Only difference could be in some custom maps when either player dont know the map and preferrably used when other players screen is covered like E-S said and we played with him couple times like that and those games where intresting, but i still prefer looking at other players screen all the way
And what comes to spawn killing well its a bit dodgy if other player dont know spawn patterns and usually player who knows patterns end up with huge advatange, but once you learn routes it's hard not to take somekind of use out of them since you usually know next spawn. |

Whatever people say about watching opponent’s screens it is pretty much essential if you are a serious player, even though some consider it a "dark art".
Regarding spawn killing, I have deliberately avoided learning the spawn patterns for the most part. I prefer reacting to where an opponent spawns as opposed to rushing towards the next spawn guns blazing. _________________ Join The Goldeneyeonline / Shootersforver IRC Chat Channel! - #goldeneyeonline @ Quakenet |

I would love to play online with you guys, but it is pretty difficult to set up the emulator and internet room, I guess I would have to learn it all over again...(doesn't hurt to try) |
