Ok, I knew this was a rare game, and even rarer factory sealed, but wow...
ebay link
Bidding ends in 12 hours, so far up to $500,000. |

All I need is some Fort Knox gold bars and that item is mine on Ebay. I'm going to Fort Knox today to perform a perfect, premeditated theft of as much gold bullion as I need to buy that. Since I'll also need to deal with SWAT and military I'll definitely get a real bulletproof vest to conceal underneath my clothing. I should carry an AA-12 shotgun and a nice fully automatic machine pistol when I arrive there. A FAMAS rifle wouldn't be a bad choice, but which type of gun should I walk in with? I'm thinking a personal, tactical P90 as a sub machine gun choice. I also need smoke screen grenades, thermal sights, and other electronic equipment to breach the vault and prevent raising the alarm so they don't call in the calvary. Ammunition and time are of grave importance here. I have only twelve hours before the auction ends. Please wish me luck BMW. |

I think it's ridiculous how much people are willing to pay for a "collector game". |

It's over $800,000.00 now...
00Dark: If any gold from Fort Knox manages to disappear within the next nine hours, I'll know where to direct the proper authorities. _________________

I know a couple MP's in Fort Knocks who can shoot faster than some people can think.. best of luck
jk.. thats a hell of a lot of money, but if you got enough of it, I guess a great way to spend it would be buying the things you want..
Personally, I could think of a lot better ways to spend 800k.. _________________ "Inspiration strikes but once.. If you're forgetful, carry a pen." -Me |

I didn't realize that in some cultures the term "factory sealed" must mean "touched by God". Why else would the bid ever go anywhere near that high? One has to wonder if the highest bidder will actually pull through and make the payment. _________________

the culture of stupidity and decadence, I guess.
anyway, I haer that there's been some individuals that seemed to have found it funny to bid just to inflate the price artificially. wonder if the winner (not sure if that's the right word in this case...) is one of those. he could be freightened by now... |

With that being a legally binding contract, I would imagine the seller could sue him if he fails to pay. Then again, good luck collecting $800,000 bucks even if you win in court.
btw - this shatters the all-time ebay record of $41,300 for a single video game of any genre or system (ironically, it was also a factory sealed stadium events). |

I also have to wonder if the whole thing is a hoax, with both the seller and the 2 high bidders in on it. Think about it - you put up your rare game (which is realistically worth $30k to $40k), get a few people to bid it through the roof, pay your ebay fees (funny thing is if the seller had waited til March to do this, fees are capped at $50, now he has to pay $12,000), then make a non-paying bidder claim, get your fees back, then re-list claiming in your new auction that this item previously sold for $800k but the buyer did not pay and the second bidder who also bid nearly that high was no longer interested. Get lots of publicity from this current auction (which already has 50,000 views) and hope when you relist to get a lot higher price from a legitimate bidder than you otherwise would have gotten. |

Apparently factory sealed AND verified does mean touched by God.

What the hell.
Why would someone pull that kind of money out of their @$$ for a video game? _________________
