Hello I'm using Mupen64++_Beta_0.1.3.12 with several different video and sound plugins, none seem to play well: I've use the rice's 6.1.1 beta 10, Jabo direct 3D8 1.6, and glide 64 and the sound azimers, schibo's, as well as no sound at all. FPS drops very low at times 17 and lower, but at times like the title screen as high as the 60s.

The sound is really laggy and such too. I have played hybrid heaven just fine on this computer but goldeneye just doesn't like to work well not sure what it is, these are my computer specs:

Windows vista 32 bit
AMD turion dual-core RM-70 2.00Ghz
3 GB ram
Nvidea geforce 8200M

This is a laptop about two years old, I know it's not the best but with requirements being so low that I have read I don't understand why it can't work, must just be not compatible with this particular setup, just wondering if anyone is in a similar situation and got it to work with different plugins or something.

Welcome to the forums ColdSnowden.

Ok i had the same problem with this too.

And well not all computers can't handle it very well and that must be your computer.

And well i cud not ever find out on how to fix this but there is a derfrent emulator that will work out for you.

Try 1964 its the fastest working emulator i ever use and it even work on my computer 100% with no lag.

But now if your trying to play online thu that can be a problem.

Sents you can't run it with out lag you can try Project 64K witch is very good for online play.

But Mupen is better. But it will let you play online.

Now heres something else.

It may just be the plugins you sud look at Goldeneye Forever its the best place to get you started here is the link.

http://www.goldeneyeforever.com/goldeneye_emulation_emulators.php

Thats for the 1964 Emulator

http://www.goldeneyeonline.com/

And thats for Mupen online playing.

Read them all and you get Goldeneye working in no time.

now if it did not work it may be your computer.

You may need to update it and stuff.

So all I'm going to say is Good luck. Smile

Ok, just thought Id add this for fun,

You can try UltraHLE 2064 if you want. THIS is the FASTEST. It even runs on my 233MHz (Though bit laggy). The only problem is of course every computer configuration likes/dislikes different emulators/plugins.

I use 1964 on my 'server' but on here I use UHLE.

Even just updating files with projects like 982ME made UHLE decide that the plugin I was using would slow down but made the default UHLE plugin work (And with colour!).

Just wanted to let everyone know that today I discovered a big part of the problem. For a few days I'd been running the game substandard using all jabo plugins that seemed to work best.

Today though I discovered that limiting your CPU performance to 95% can make the game run probably 3 times worse than it should. I limit my laptop to this to avoid overheating, upon letting the computer use full performance the music sounds good and everything runs smooth.

I would think limiting CPU performance would decrease how well it runs but not by this much, must have something to do with the nature of emulators maybe.

Still using Jabo plugins for everything, maybe I'll try the others now and see if it can run ever better!
