When I insert the characters witch 21990 menu and reload the rom my characters mutate into strange and deformed characters.

Here a picture: http://piczasso.com/i/w09gm.bmp

Here a table of the problem characters and the characters they were before:

1. "$" --> ß
2. ">" --> ü
3. "%" --> Ä

The green circled characters mean that they are right.

The red circled mean that they're deformed strange... Question

I don't know how to do; help me, please help me.

Hi quaternio

That also happened to me during my spanish translation. Looks like some character don't want to be replaced. Laughing
I ended replacing these:

[
]
$
&
/
|
{
}

Hope that helps.

Likely because they are actually smaller than the size you put in (but bitmaps have to be padded to 8s or whatever). So it made random data for those padded areas.

I tried to fill out the other spaces, but even if I only edit one pixel of the $ it will appear deformed.

I have inserted all German characters now (ä, ö, ü, Ä, Ö, Ü, ß):

[ --> ä
# --> ö
} --> ü
| --> Ä
{ --> ß
\ --> Ö
] --> Ü

But ä, Ö and Ü are displayed like this:

The red underlined characters are not correctly displayed.
Below the underlined characters there are the "names" of the characters.

I don't know what to do now - Please help me.

See the current font letter bitmap to see the correct bitmap size. I think you're putting back in the wrong size.

I don't know how to put back in the right size.

The original character [ has 278 bytes.
The modified ä has only 246 bytes.
