Unfortunately I found out that simulants can't use the Cetan teleporters. Players can, but even then you can't teleport more than once through them unless the action block is modified. With teleports the map is really big, but the fact that simulants can't go through them defeats the purpose of a large level. However, simulants can use elevator lifts. I'd like to increase the size of the beginning portion of Deep Sea and expand it to include the whole ocean floor part. This means you have access to the entire first section of Deep Sea which has the Dr. Caroll room, Cetan teleporter activation room, etc. Below are screenshots of what I'd like to do...
Basically, I only want to delete the portion of the floor in which the elevator rests. That way it can go, not only to the upper and lower floors of that room, but also below the room to the ocean floor. I'd simply put in a third elevator stop pad on the ground below and it would work. As you can see, the lift floor portion is made up of just six background triangles. Is it possible to delete individual background triangles just like with clipping triangles? If not, then could someone please explain to me how I could do it manually? |

Here's an in-game screenshot of what this portion looks like on the ocean floor.
Unfortunately there aren't any portals down there as you might have already predicted. I haven't put any in yet. It just shows what's through that window and the rest is blackness. |

I've gotten the floor triangles deleted, but you'll need to add a portal there so you can see down into the other rooms. Once you've made more progress on this, you can send me your updated files to work with. It's going to be a fair amount of work to get it looking right, though. _________________

Did you want me to just make the ocean floor into a multiplayer map or the whole beginning portion of Deep Sea up to where the Dr. Caroll room is? |

The areas you want to use are totally up to you. The floor by itself might be better, since there will still be issues with what parts of the ship you can see from the outside. If you do plan to keep the beginning area with the lift, than you will want the floor gone. A portal will need to be made to allow players to see down into the ocean floor from there. A BG mod is the last step, really. When you're pretty much finished with it, I can try to help with the rest. _________________
