I've learnt a lot over the last few days, and figure it'd be handy to share this with people. I've not managed to get my head around the Perfect Dark clipping the way I did Goldeneye (which may be why the issues).
PD doesn't require the neat formatting that you needed with GE, as long as two edges are flush a player may transverse the clipping. Note: This can be used as a bug-fix. If you're catching on clipping, flatten and simplify edges.
"Dipping" sometimes you may sink into the clipping as though the character is crouching - this is often fixed by flipping tris or changing the layout.
Ramps: Any hints here? They're just not working for me. Working on the Dam there are lots of cases where ramps should be helpful, but they just won't work. Perhaps the stairs are too narrow in places. _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

Hi MRKane,
I haven't worked with PD for months so I don't remember the stuff very well.
For ramps to work, you should right click the triangles then select 'Set tile as walkable'. There's no check mark for this option and the clipping colour doesn't change (at least it doesn't for me) so you'll have to remember the ramps you have edited.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but that's how I remembered it.
You can check the thread where SubDrag and Wreck helped me with PD. There's info of some different things that can be helpfull for your levels. |

MrKane,
Never had your issues, so is odd, I've never had to flip a triangle or anything like that, or had dipping. Perhaps your clipping flags are not set properly as walkable? Otherwise ramps are same as walking as Sogun said. PD clipping should be much easier once you've got hang of it. |
