 |
|
I had a fun talk with my buds yesterday.
I told them about Wreck and his progress in bringing things from Goldeneye in to Perfect dark, how it may never be entirely possible to ever see a 100%
Goldeneye with Perfect Dark enhancements.
That's when something popped in my head:
Just like the Goldfinger project, using this weird mix of Goldeneye and PD props, and weird versions of levels that would be possible to make using the editor, PJ 64 retexturing , MP3 injections to the PD ROM, i think we (Well- all hackers of this forum) have enough things to create a Shooter of our own....

for those with no knowledge of Pacard, click the link under to hear the theme song for the MOD opening PD sequence

Of course If any of you out there think this would be a good idea but your work and time is dedicated to the Goldfinger project, then let it pass until Goldfinger is finished or nearly finished.
I just think that having a Bond spoof game using the same engine that made Bond /PD the kings of shooters would be a nice thing to do.

Gameplay
this animation shows the best way to control the game and the 2 new actions...
check with sound!

drivers
Since the xbox 360's controller drivers are not so good by default
and the triggers cancel themselves when pressed at same time, here is some solutions:
Masahiko Morii's xbox360 controller drivers
this driver allows you to configure the triggers as buttons or individual axisseses
Compatible with windows 98 ME, 2000, xp ,vista & 7
USB WIRED
Link: http://lavendy.net/special/driver/x360c/index.html
WIRELESS
Link: http://lavendy.net/special/driver/x360wc/index.html
XBCD driver - its free and lets you use the triggers like buttons.
Only drawback is it does not work well with the wireless controllers
win xp, vista , 7

XBOX 360 Controller Emulator - Since the default M$ drivers are stinky, it is very sad that some have to resort to emulated to fix the trigger problem.

instructional link: http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?p=1750248
Xpadder- it allows you to customize deadzones , triggers as buttons
Only drawback - it costs money, older versions are out there for free

LEVELS
Pacard's levels will probably have to be made in a ROM by ROM principle
(since many of the replacement codes and modifications affect many things)
New Orleans Mumbo Jumboree
This level would use elements from PD and GE.
New orleans homes can be made using the Depot's houses,
The russian streets and a hotel can be made using Lucerne tower.
Here Pacard helps Shadowman rescue some hostages, fight some zombies, and destroy a cementary (statue park gate , some of its stones)
Pacard and El Santo vs Los Hombres Pollo , Aztec mummies, and Vampire Terrorists
This level would combine jungle, aZtec temple features, skedar ruins.
Retextured skedars are the Werechickens, wounded guard values for default make for very good unarmed mummies, vampire terrorists can be slowed down but only killed with "silver bolts" or one shot silver gun....
Olllo here - with one level suggestion-
Cool Cool Mountain... OF DEATH!
It is pretty much a wish to have this level of Mario 64 enhanced - adapted and re-vived from Mario 64 -
& if Oldyz & i learn enough of the editor & other techniques to collaborate with EternallyAries and others to bring it to life-
It would feature the funicular from Airbase mission as well as the
sky , snow and mountains textures of the same level -
Most of Mario 64's polygonal level model will remain intact
enemies very similar to storm troopers, Androids re-place the flower head bouncy enemies,
Snipers and teleport pads to match mario 64's originals -
Inside the mountain the slide is still there and you must use the hoverbike (snowmobile) to reach an otherwise unobtainable objective -
Falling to your doom is a constant danger at all times!
More later....

Ah, man...
That is too much, LOL.
Patrick Stewart with Rastafarian hair? Some crazy midget with a visor humping a police car? Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Shatner and a character from Killer Instinct? A crazy looking guy with a blue face and a donut over one eye? And to top it all off... Jeff Goldbloom! You guys sure know how to party. _________________

Olllo here:
Updated the 360´s controller´s drivers section
and the XBCD driver´s link
I say ~ leave the XBCD driver for the Xbox´s 1´s controllers, use
Morii´s drivers for the 360 pad
We hope the post is helpful for anyone using the 360 controller
we might make a topic about the 360/xbox one controllers, but this blasted laptop is a paiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin
NOTE: corrected the links - Also -
the wired controller is compatible with older operating systems |

I use the wired x360 controller for Windows for everything not N64.
I was stupid enough to not use Windows calibrate the first time It's hard for the analogs finding that center/neutral point now, all worn a bit |
