Another idea:
Letting simulants detonate remote mines and use the rest of the mines. Very Happy

As much as I'd love for Sims to be able to detonate their remote mines, even Rare was incapable of pulling off that feat. However, they are fully capable of using both Timed and Proximity mines, now. In PD, it wasn't even possible for them to equip a Timed type. Because of their inability to activate their own Remotes, they can no longer spam the level with useless mines. I imagine this is what Rare meant to do with PD, but for some reason did it to Timed, instead.

The only bonus levels are those that can be found in Virtual Reality mode. We do have ideas, however, for a particular bonus mission which will fill the empty slot that the Duel originally occupied. What it is and who will appear in it, we can not reveal. Wink

I had actually given thought to porting weapons from Goldfinger 64 for GE:X, but considering that the GF64 mod won't be made public for some time still, I don't think it would be a good idea to make them available so soon. We wouldn't want to spoil the fun.

you could add a diamond gun... (gun that shoots diamond bullets) it would be as strong as a golden gun but go through glass like the magnum. sounds lethal no? it would have to shoot slower though than the golden gun but also you should port the guns from perfect dark to goldeneye (if you haven't already.) tell me if these ideas work with your plans :)

Hi found out about goldeneye x (dream come true!) and had to join the board.

One little suggestion I have is when playing perfect dark there was always one thing which always bugged me and my friends when playing solo or multiplayer. (made u always go back to goldeneye multi)

When you use the manual aim (cross hairs pop up) I know this can be turned off and me and my friends always played goldeneye with no sight no auto aim and licence to kill with pistols (has to be done).

But in perfect dark when you use the manual aim even with the sight off it always made a beep noise telling you were on target over who you were shooting, I hated this whats the point of turning the sight off if every time you get a beep when your on target?

Since goldeneye X is supposed to be as close to goldeneye original with PD upgrade engine would it be possible to remove this annoying beep noise and make it more like the original goldeneye? Really would add that little bit more genuine feel of goldeneye and make me very happy Very Happy

Thanks for your kind comments.
You'll be pleased to know that the beeping noise that occurs when a player or Simulant is in your sights has been taken out. It will no longer be present in all upcoming releases. I'm hoping Patch 5a will become public within 2 weeks time.

Is it possible to get the sims behaving like game characters? As in talking, reacting (or playing those animations) having a chance that if you startle them they'll be surprised for a moment, or having them taunt and celebrate a kill like in the original UT? It adds a bit more personality to the situation which always proves more enjoyable.

That's like a milestone, I don't think they're gonna release a new patch that's incompatible with the N64 itself. lol

EDIT: goldeneyegod, dude, I read your first post. AMEN. It always bugged me how nearly everyone I netplayed against would sit behind crosshairs but never rush with manual aim

Speaking of aiming in PD is there any way to lock the reticule so that it behaves more like a modern shooter while sniping or general play? Im just getting into controller modding and am trying to make a setup similar to a PS controller using only one N64 controller instead of two - it just think an aming system with sway is more difficult to use.

The only reason the previous ones weren't had to do with a silly little display list issue. That won't be a problem again.

What, you mean you people don't just fudge c-down a bit and circle-spray? Even with pistols (and even with the drag of MP) you can still get off a lot of rounds pretty accurately.

The splugem approach? I've usually found it ineffective. I was more wondering how much we could modernize the game so that whilst sniping you weren't trying to aim with the reticule but more in the style of a conventional game - mainly because like it or not, it's much easier to do. Although that might not have been the reason loL

Here's a quick one that might have been over looked.

In the temple level in multi in the large up stairs area where you can look down the square hole I remember that if you shoot one of the ammo crates up there (cart remember which) another ammo crate pops out and the second ammo crate contains ammo for what ever was the most powerful weapon from what ever weapn set is chosen.

I remember this was handy for when my friends would hord the grenades for their grenade launchers lol.

Since goldeneye x is supposed be be every bit as close to the game play of the original hope this gets included because it always added that little bit of extra strategie and also annoyed my friends who didn't know about it lol Cool
