Anyone ever check out the story section of Rare's official GoldenEye site? I remember reading their rumor mill page back in the day, but I don't remember this at all.
GoldenEye: Portfolio of a Spy
The most notable thing is that give a purpose for Ourumov's briefcase: It contained the Pirate helicopter blueprints. The rumor mill gave that explanation, along with another one where it had information required to stop the satellites from firing later in the game.
I also find it very interesting that they describe everything here except for the bonus missions, which are only eluded to. Not something I'd expect most developers to do.
Check the cast page too, Dr. Doak's got a bio.
Edit: Here's an interview with the GE team for people who haven't read it before:

While we're reminiscing, take a look at Nintendo's official site. This one brings back some memories for me. Check out the development section if you never have before; it's all common knowledge now, but still cool. Nothing else particularly interesting, although I do like some of their elaboration on various things in the game.

Kind of funny how I have the same set of characters showing in the GEX bio computer menu - including Dr. Doak!
Thanks for the links. I might just steal that "the story so far" for the GoldenEye story in GEX. Though I might re-write it with more depth later on, it's better than nothing for the time being. _________________

Nintendo's Japanese website for the game:
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n01/n64/software/nus_p_ngej/index.html
It's still up! I originally looked it up on archive.org like the others, but noticed the page had been indexed recently and decided to check it out. There are two shots of Connery, they look like they were high quality, but the images have been cut to less than half their normal resolution. Also, Russian soldiers wearing ushankas in Dam. (Ourumov's line is in English, but this stuff is obviously prerelease so that doesn't mean anything.)
PD's site is here, nothing too interesting since we already documented the changes and everything there looks final:
