Anything is possible really, it could have minimal changes and bugs fixed, or there could be more left over files. Ive had some betas with significant differences month over month, especially with deleted files. |

Yeah, I'm afraid it might be a little too late in development for major changes, but it's possible they hadn't done as good a job cleaning up unused things as they did for the final. Hoping for some hat models and more unused dialogue, too.
How did you come to the conclusion that 4.4 was from early 99? I know it's pretty rough, but I always figured it was from later in development, given how finalized most of the common text files seem. |

I took a good guess, which is a bit modest. I have some Beta footage to back it up which shows them in action, but no other strong provable evidence that I can show (and most of the vids have RELATIVE dates...).
Perfect Dark was very weird with their Betas, and many people haven't put into perspective yet what features were changed at what time (f.e. PerfectHead was still in the game even when the ammo bars were fixed to 1 bar only). It could be mid '99, late '99. Would be nice if they included time stamps somewhere in there...

Let's hope I would request a Hex Edit or decompression of the ROM with your consent but I'm not sure what I would ask to look up... Anyone got any ideas? _________________

Just the file name table alone would be great, see if there's anything in there that isn't in the final version. |

My number one goal is of course to get the ROMs out there, the longer it takes the more money I lose in the end |

Just spent some money earlier in the week so can't donate :/
I think Brethren requests that you hex edit the rom and look at the files.
When possible, can you open up the ROM in a hex editor and search for "setup"? You should be presented with a long list of filenames. Scroll up a bit, to where the file list stops and copy and past everything from top to bottom (which may be a hundred lines or so). This way, we can compare to the retails. _________________

On/off topic: I remember you saying you have all the beta vids saved up.
I was wondering if you could send them my way? I'd love to have them saved up as well. |

Filelists probably wouldn't help much, as there's a lot of placeholder filenames with no attached data. Also, any nifty dropped GB64 features would be within the TLB segment, and that requires decompression and concatenation. _________________ (\_/) Beware

Im working on a few things that should reduce the price. I've always said that my goal isn't to make a profit, so I'll be selling a few items at a "profit" and directly applying them to this. I should have my Ni No Kuni Wizard's Edition in the next couple of weeks, that would be a few hundred towards the fundraiser. |

Still some minor post-processing to work out, but it is a lot better than composite. Still 240p content being scaled, but that is okay. Can't beat real hardware |
