Hi

Total noob to this site but a Veteran of Goldeneye Smile

Loved the game all those years ago on the N64 that i checked out the emulator and its pretty cool!!

Ive set up My controller to run on my laptop and have pretty much got the movement to a T but id like to know if theres a fix to my problem which im sure others have come across.

I press the left trigger to pull up the Crosshairs and Right Trigger to shoot ***BUT*** they wont work together ?? i have to let go of one to use the other.

Is this the norm and ill just have to live with it or can it be fixed ??

Running on Windows 8, Project 64 Emulator, Xbox 360 Wired Controller

Many Thanks in advance

Mikey

Yup I also have that problem, there is an easy fix tho.

I downloaded the programe called xpadder it lets you change the button on your controller to keyboard buttons, so just make the left trigger a keyboard button and the right one to, you can also add a save sate button to your controller as well, comes in handy.

Oh and welcome to the forums, were abouts are you from??

The newest version of the NRage plugin has an Xinput setting, use that. (This problem is due to the 360 controller using a single axis for both triggers. Xpadder will work, but the new NRage also supports rumble on 360 controllers.)

Is that new version of N-Rage cross-compatible with 64++'s bundled version of N-Rage ?

Got the plugin, did this...................

How to install the plugin

First, make sure you've downloaded the latest version. Right now, the link to the newest version is in a stickied thread on the EmuTalk bulletin board, here:
http://www.emutalk.net/plugins/36135-nrage-input-plugin-v2-00-beta-overhaul.html

Extract the NRage_DInput8_V2_2.00.dll file into the plugins folder for your emulator. If you're using Project 64, like I am, it will be something like "C:\Program Files\Project64\plugin\" and should already have a lot of *.dll files in it already.

Finally, if you have an NRage language pack (something like NRage-Language-1031.dll), unpack that file into the same folder as your emulator. If you place it in the plugins folder, it will not work.

Now open up your emulator and select the plugin (for Project64 1.6, that's under Options, Settings).

But now it says no controller in socket 1, and i get an error message
When going to options/settings, Program cant start because XINPUT1_3.dll is missing, reinstall the program.

Whats up with that shizzle ? javascript:emoticon('Shocked')

Do you have the latest 360 controller drivers from Microsoft? Only thing I can think of, it works fine here. (Only thing I dislike about using NRage's XInput option is that it assumes you want to use controller 1 for controller 1, 2 for 2, etc. so you can't do a true dual analog setup for GE/PD like you can with Direct Input.)

Just stumbled across these when I was looking for an alternate XInput plugin (sick of N-Rage's awful C button support when they're mapped to a stick).

http://lavendy.net/special/driver/xi/index.html

The page is in Japanese, but these are drivers which enable DirectInput Force Feedback with the 360 controller, without affecting XInput at all, unlike other alternate drivers. Just tried them out and they work great. I can do dual analog in GE/PD again, still have rumble, still have macros, etc.

Unfortunately you'll still need to run XPadder to take care of the trigger axis problem. Kind of sucks, but worth it for having two analog sticks again.

Hello friends,

well, the answer to your trigger problems is here:
http://www.shootersforever.com/forums_message_boards/viewtopic.php?p=35885#35885

use the japanese drivers for 360 controllers and check the menus for the separation of the analogue trigger buttons.

no need for xpadder.

since we have not played for a while now, i cant even remember how i had set up the nrage configuration
