That is fantastic (and almost unbelievable). As far as I can remember, I've not completed one level on LTK, let alone DLTK (and I don't think my memory is failing here..., I'm jus far from elite), and it's really impressive that people can not only complete the challanges, but even speed run them! And I know that for a long time Silo in DTLK was considered impossible, and since Perfect Dark also has one level that's considered impossible in DLTK (Attack Ship) then no doubt many people will be re-attempting DLTK on Attack Ship.
And it's great to see that Goldeneye can still surprise us, even now. |

Such effort and dedication!
I used to play LTK (one shoot one kill) but with reaction time and accuracy lower than 100% (I'm not that good) and Silo was one of my favourites.
This talks really good about GE/PD replay value: even after completing all the levels in three difficulty settings, there are infinite ways to play them again!
About the video, it took me a while to notice that the mark on the TV was actually an improvised aimer.
What does he do around 4:30 when he tossed all those plastiques?
Also, it needs a lot of guts to do what he does at 7:40. You are almost at the end of the level after a lot of calculated steps, then you hide in a corner and let a lot of guards to come near and shoot you just to throw them a grenade at point blank! Just thinking about such strategy is nuts.
And lol at the bloopers at the end of the video. If the Ourumov ones happened to me I would have destroyed the game, haha. |

This is outstanding I am completely surprise someone has beaten silo on 007 mode with max settings. And to thought all these years I thought that might of been the only level in the entire game that is not beatable. Well over the years I've beaten some levels with 007 mode max settings. But never speed run them due to the fact that my luck is awful when it comes to pressure up the yin yang. Anyway I congrats the guy for this accomplishment. _________________ There totally nothing to read here. |

So, I'm lying in bed watching the vid and thinking "this'll probably be quite easy. You've just got to take your time"
So i went downstairs set it up and got shot dead almost the instant the first door opened.
After a few more attemts I started to get a bit p1ssed off so went back with rockets and then blew the f@ck out of everyone and everything
Full respect to you The Extremist

watched the vid, damn hell impressive
I've been trying to beat it on Secret Agent with Enemy Rockets and keep dying. Couldn't even dream of attempting on DLTK _________________ www.YouTube.com/hab007GE |

You know I often wondered about the feasibility of using the demo record function on an emulator and playing it back on a TV to make the claim. My brother use to do trick runs at Beetle Adventure Racing in a similar way. Still, it's crazy impressive, and it actually really warms my heart to know that GE is still alive and kicking and all our work on it hasn't just catered to a small group! _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

Emulators always have small differences from the real games. I'm sure that the guys who run The Elite can spot them. That, and crazy stunts like this are usually done by people with good reputations.
So few worries. _________________ Pure hand-drawn goodness. |

At this moment in time, you can tell very easily - does the game mipmap? If it does, it's console. Maybe some LLE emulators plugins don't, but theyre too slow to do a speed run, i think you'd notice probably. |

What is 'mipmap', please?
BTW, Beetle Adventure Racing is fantastic. The only thing I wanted for it was a Gameshark code that would let you race backwards on the tracks (like you can in the Rush games, which (sort of) doubles the number of tracks as you (and the other cars, of course) can race round the tracks backwards and play the game that way. Does anyone know of a code that allows this, please? |

If you play on console, you'll notice a texture kinda "blur" farther away, it's because the texture sizes are divided by 2 more and more depending on distance. If you don't do it, the texture "moves".

I see. So emulators (or at least N64 emulators) don't (currently) do this, and so an emulator would look worse than a real N64 as the textures wouldn't resize in the same way that they would on a real N64? I've never noticed this as I've rarely used N64 emulators, but that's a pretty big minus for N64 emulators, and a real pity, especially as from the little I've seen of N64 emulators they do make games look a lot better in other ways (well, resolution and clarity, at least). |
