The eagerly awaited modded version of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Voyager of Time, has been released. I haven't played it (I still haven't played OoT, how far behind am I?) but apparently it's rather good, and hopefully will help ease the disappointment for Zelda fans of hearing that another eagerly awaited mod, Ura Zelda, has been abandoned and will probably never be released.
"Voyager of Time takes place after Majora's Mask, but it is not a direct sequel. Link has come back to the Kokiri Forest to try and find peace after his last adventure. It is implied that he has had a third adventure in Termina but with the fairy Tael instead of Tatl. The younger brother of the feisty Tatl is a bit more subdued, but also more brave than what we've seen in Majora's Mask. He can hold his own and he and Link have grown to be great friends.
The game starts out with Link having nightmares of his past adventures. The Deku Tree Sprout, descendant of the Great Deku Tree has summoned Link because he has sensed great evil growing lately. Link is sent on a quest to help out with the growing problems in Hyrule." [copied and pasted from the first link, below].

Do you know what editor they made to to make this? For some reason zelda level editing/community it's difficult to find out information. |

Sorry, no idea at all. I know about the game from a post at;
http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?36848-Zelda-64-Ura-Zelda-64DD-Zelda-Gaiden&highlight=zelda
The official (I think) site for the mod doesn't even mention that the mod has been released, let alone have a download link (and the download (which I got from the Youtube page) doesn't have a readme file, it's just an (uncompressed) .z64 file (64MB, which is twice the size of Ocarina of Time).
Google returns;
http://www.the-gcn.com/files/category/5-community-downloads/
but you might have to post on the official GCN forum (it's a web site for fan modders, aparently) or e-mail Voyager in Time's authors, to ask what editor they use. Sorry I can't be more help, but I nothing of Zelda mods at all. |

I must admit, don't want to get involved in Zelda community after the debacle of Ura Zelda (seems like a minefield), just was curious to see tools because I can't find them publicly available. |

I love the pictures and videos on the mod, and although they have edited each of the levels, if they think they've edited things as objects and enemies. proves this mod soon.
the truth is that there are a variety of tools for the edition of zelda (I think that sometimes are hard to find) but it seems that every one who edited zeldaOOT usually work on an individual basis and do not usually form a large group for a project so big and ambitious. I've seen things like tools to edit the animations of the enemies and actors, for editing levels (although the latter does not seem to be perfected). wikipedia has a section talking about hacking zeldaOOT, Codes and tools cursiosidades but now can not remember which was the link.
is interesting to know more and more how our N64, especially regarding editing anything and any game, and we can apply both Ge or PD as possible. of course I can not understand how after 10 years but can only edit most 10 games for my N64 and the worst part is that games like Mario Kart64 not yet have a publisher. is posble so many people this without investigating the possibility of new editors for successful N64 games? |
