Sucks that you were forced to release these before you met your goal but I'm really grateful you put them out there rather than just letting them disappear.

Edit:

None of the training courses in the CI seem to work in the PAL beta. Or the NTSC beta, for that matter.

Post again when editor support is ready, probably smarter to just wait than trying to find things myself by chance but that's not going to stop me! Razz

It'll load the PAL one now in 39850 (just files that can be ripped, maybe sounds), but NTSC is going to take some more time and I want to add more than just file rip.

Ok, cool. Grabbing it in a second. I forget, can final PAL files be ripped with the editor? Those would probably be better for comparison than NTSC.

In NTSC, CI Defense ends on agent shortly after completing the reprogram objective, without showing the outro. The outro's functional through the cinema menu, though.

Edit: Answered my own question, going to diff these in a minute.

Edit 2: Most differences are in text files, there are a few setup changes though, will compare in a bit.

Edit 3: The part of Defection action blocks 0422/0C00 that changes music was removed and put into 1418 instead. Just some optimization I guess?

Edit 4: Air base 0C01 hides AF1 in beta, doesn't in final.

One of the unknown actions had changes made in Villa 1005.

Infiltration's collision file was changed, haven't looked at it yet. Something changed in the setup too. Air Force One and Mr. Blonde's Revenge also have setup differences (not action blocks like others.)

Editor now can load the NTSC Debug (for files and sounds). I can slowly bring in the rest of the stuff for the NTSC one. FYI has one less file than retail, not sure which though.

Will look at NTSC soon, probably later on tonight.

Sorry BTW but I jumped the gun on training/firing range, turns out it's never accessible when Carrington is giving his tour. Don't know how I never caught that before. Embarassed

Edit: Ran a diff for now, saucerexplosion sound is missing, lots of pads, text, setup changes. Some models, too. The DY357s and Mauler gun models jumped out at me, wonder if there are any visible differences.

Edit 2: ahaha, I managed to fall out of the elevator in the dataDyne building. I still haven't looked at anything in-depth yet, looks like they made a lot of changes to Defection's action blocks for the intro, but nothing that had a consequential effect on how it plays out.

The Life on the Line intro is in the Cinema menu in the NSTC beta. I wonder why they removed that from the final version? The only problem it has is that Jo wears her combat outfit instead of negotiator (this isn't the case in the mission itself).

Ah, the 14XX or whatever (or was it 0CXX?) block must be off.

Remember those preview shots of Felicity with a painting in the back hall and sinks in the bathroom? Look what I found in the NTSC beta...

The whole back hall is lined with paintings.

There are sinks and toilet seats in the bathroom. The sinks have collision, which sucks and might be why they were cut.

The ducts have broken gratings where you can drop down (and under Bond's start point in GE!).

Oh, Rare!

The security room has a huge crack in the ceiling open to sky.

There are various signs on the walls like in GoldenEye.

No, that duct's just open to sky. Weird thing is they kept that little duct to nowhere under it, you'd think they would have cut that too if they were removing details.

The necklace De Vries drops in Attack Ship has the same description as in Defection (no password/user). I noticed in text it had %s or whatever for it in 6.4, so it wasn't hardcoded in text bank like retail.
