Good evening, or whatever what time it is when you read this.
So, once again I've never played a game in this series(Castlevania) before.
IGN, which is a reviewing site I really trust(ed) gave it a low score of 4.5 out of 10. Awww, I thought this would be a really crappy game
Low framerate, inaccurate controls, ...You understand, the least I can say is that the review wasn't positive.
So, I went to see if this game was really that bad, and I downloaded the demo.
And I think it's not THAT bad...
it's no up-to-date game with fluent controls and things, but for me that isn't really a drawback. It's like playing an older game, you won't complain because it isn't perfect in certain ways..
Perfect example, Perfect dark is TECHNICALLY better then Goldeneye, sporting more possibilities and improvements to the gameplay...but still GE is way better to me
Castlevania: Lords of shadow: mirror of fate is a fairly allright action-adventure game in my opinion. It isn't as good as games are today, but that is actually quite a charming experience, as it appeals in this way. It plays like a classic with typical unpolished controls
At least, that's my opinion.
The good news is that I can get my hands on this very soon, and what's more important: for free! So I think I'll get it for free.
What do you guys think about it? Anybody played it? Was it really that bad?
Thanks for reading. |

Go play Castlevania: Symphony of the Night or even the DS games and compare it to Mirror of Fate. MOF is all show, no substance. The combat drags on forever, there are dumb QTEs in every boss fight, the only reward for exploration is more XP, leveling only affects your abilities and the RPG-style equipment has been scrapped entirely...it's a step back in pretty much every way possible except graphically. Even the story, as little as I care about it, wrecks the established story.
I will say, it was better than I was expecting, but only because I wasn't expecting much. If I went in hoping the game would be better than SOTN, I'd have been extremely disappointed. |

Well, I've heard good things about the games you were mentioning,
but it's just that I can't say if mirror of fate is a step backward, just because I never played any game in the series.
I'll take a look at the others
But I think I'll still get, only because I don't have to pay for it
but,
Thanks for your advice Dragonsbrethren!
I'll definitely try the others |
