Anybody in here a fan of that genre?

The first one I ever played was Maniac Mansion on the Commodore 64. That was back probably in the mid-1990s. Never did beat the game, but I remember that being one of my all-time favorites at the time. The other game I had for the c64 just like that one was Zak McKracken and the Alien Mind Benders. Same exact game engine with ramped up difficulty.

More recently I played and beat Beneath a Steel Sky.

Might give the Monkey Island series a try.

MYST. I don't know if this counts but I love the click and travel through picture style game it was. Genius back in it's day with a mindblowing world.

I miss my Commadore 64 - I brought one for $5 at a garage sale when I was really young. Some of the best gaming I've ever had in my life was on that trusty system. I couldn't resist downloading the voiced version of Beneath a Steel Sky (available for the total cost of free) and playing it through again. I think the most influential games for me were Wings, Moonstone, Celtic Legends and Adams Family and I think there was another called Warmonger Smile

I loved point and click adventures in the mid 90s. It was the only thing I played on PC along with PC FĂștbol (a Spanish League football manager).

Maniac Mansion took me years to complete! Even with the help of friends it was too cryptic sometimes. I beat it with Bernard and Michael combination, and I'm not sure if you can beat the game every other combination or you need Bernard in your team.
If you liked Maniac Mansion you should try its sequel: Day of the Tentacle. A lot easier (you can't die or mess up something), but with more humor and a very good plot. This is my all time favourite.

Another point and click adventure I loved is Loom. This one doesn't run on SCUMMV, but the atmosphere of the game is so powerful it traps you. And the music even with the noise PC speaker sounds amazing. It fills me with nostalgia. There's a 256 color version with dubbed dialog, but the original 16 color version is more appealing to me. It's quite easy too, but you need to play with paper and pen so you don't forget the spells, hehe.

Monkey Island series are excellent, at least until the third. In the 4th was done in 3D and you use the keyboard instead of the mouse, I think; and the 5th one wasn't done by Lucas Arts and was one of those episodic games. I completed the first one but not the others. People say that the second one is the best.

Other old point and click adventures I played were Sam & Max (the craziest Lucas Arts adventure) and Full Throttle (very hard! it mixes with some action too).
And others I know about but didn't play are Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Fate of the Atlantis and The Dig. Only good things are heard from this ones.

As for more modern games (heh, late 90s). There are the Broken Sword games, at least the first and second and Grim Fangando (the last point and click from Lucas Arts?). I always wanted to try The Longest Journey too, but never had the chance.

If I remember any other point and click adventure that I played I'll post it. Wink

I forgot about Day of the Tentacle. I played through and beat it, though honestly I found it to be more difficult than Maniac Mansion. There were a few parts in the game where I gave up and had to look on the internet for help. Overall a great game, though.
