It's undoubtedly intensive but looks great. Thanks for including a standalone executable.

100% agreed

This "rig" costed $280 local :{ And was taxed $20 (single core on 7 64-bit)

A couple of points:
1. It runs fine on a GeForce GTX 560 Ti, a card that was $250 three years ago.
2.It's not even close to being finished. By the time it is finished (and I'd say it's at least 18-24 months away from that), the hardware required to run it will be more affordable.

I found the forums board for this project which is dedicated to new news, updates and banter which can be found here. I'm quite eager to see it all properly textured up (as well as seeing the institute bottom floor!)

Yea but there will be a lot of people that will be affected by it NOT being playable on their systems. Most people can't afford to upgrade their hardware. If this becomes the excuse for not integrating a graphics options for CONSUMER GRADE pcs don't be surprised if very few people can play it is all I'm saying. I don't know. I guess I actually care about all of the community being treated fairly when hacking or modding stuff. It would be helpful to consider that when making a mod that everyone wants. That would be like hacking a game that everyone wants to play but you have to a bunch of stuff to play it. That's sort of the point of all of it is that ANYONE can play it without needing STEAM etc (example GoldenEye Source). We are suppose to be an independent hacking community folks. Wink We are just hurting ourselves forcing the community to deal with modding issues they shouldn't have to.

USER FRIENDLY:

I'm just saying. Make it to where EVERYONE benefits from it and not just yourself. Everyone will love ya!
Cool

Hate me for this: But when you're working with a commercial engine sometimes you just can't control the minimum specifications that the engine required. Once Unity decided to drop the iPad 1 all developers using it had to drop the iPad 1.

Also it's still in development, and things tighten up a lot during construction Smile

About a friendlier interface. As far as I know, we can create UI and HUD's Flash or HTML5. However, the only member which dominates HTML (Rafael) is too busy, in fact, the only person who is working on the game it's me and Ricardo Ros.

Ah. Well that's completely understandable. Mark made a good point. If it's a matter of manpower and it's the game engine that's unavoidable. I thought you guys had a team that were rebuilding a new one or something from scratch. Laughing Man it's mind blowing why they would build a game with such a demanding engine. It's like when Windows Vista was built. The main guy that created it didn't give a flying crap that it's a resource hog and even runs like sh*t on a high end system. Laughing

Very cool! You can tell it's Grid even with no textures.

How are you going to do the "glass floor"? Similar to PD where there's different parts of glass that you can break individually? or are you thinking about adding and structure that can be destroyed gradually?

Fantastic progress! Looking good. Were there any updates for the institute in the mean time?

I really love the lighting in these new pics. Feels like a PD remake should. Smile
