											|
 |
											| As some regulars of the IRC may already know, my Gameshark is no longer able to display codes, and freezes after I hit the "Select Cheat Codes" button. This is probably because of a bad code list, and flashing the GS is not possible for me. (otherwise called "piggy-backing") I have no parallel port nor another GS. All I did was delete games from the code list and it was never normal since. So, I am getting a new Gameshark. I've read on here and elsewhere that GS 3.2 is the best one to get. The broken one I have is 3.3, so I am wondering what is different from 3.2 that makes it better than 3.3.
 Thank you!

											| Get v3.2. The 3.3s are very hit-or-miss as to whether the parallel port works (in fact most do not), but the 3.2 ports all work. They're still reasonably common on ebay. | |

											| I've also read that the LED is very hit-miss with the 3.3. I suppose I was lucky with the 3.3 as mine worked before it bit the dust. Yes, 3.2s are also cheaper and pretty common like you said. Anything else I should know about?
 Thanks for the response!

											| Generally speaking the gamesharks are very prone to failure, so even buying one on ebay can be risky.
As to the 3.2 vs 3.3, I'm not aware of any significant differences between the two versions (other than the parallel port issues, obviously).

											| I think a bunch of the later production run v3.3's completely lacked the LED that counted down when the system is booting. Those ones likely don't support the parrelel port, either. Seemed like these Shark's were made more cheaply, yet cost the consumer the same.
But like BMW said, GameShark's can fail on people very easily. I've gone through quite a few over the years (prob between five and ten), and no particular version really felt more stable or reliable. But if I had to pick one, it would be a v3.2.

Not sure what technically is different between v3.2 and v3.3, but they both allowed for more active codes at one time than the v3.0 did.

											| Does the piggy-backing er flashing method not guarantee a GS for life even ? _________________

											| I suppose it all depends on whether or not the parallel port works. If it does, how long it will work. | |

I had the same thing with my gameshark 3.30 and it was similar like you said but i deleted the games that i didn't want and it had jumble of chracters and it corrupted my gameshark though.
