Depends on the level, really. In Archives, the guards in the room above the starting interrogation room will send out clones if enough noise has been made. I believe Bunker i and / or ii also does this in some locations. Once you get to the areas where those "mother guards" are, and get their attention or kill them, those clones will stop.

Depot and Runway spawn in guards at a certain point. They will just keep coming until you finish the mission. Other levels require an alarm to go off before those spawners begin appearing.

Since GoldenEye the game was in the works before the film was released, did Graeme Norgate and Grant Kirkhope have contact with Eric Serra? It's interesting how the sampling of Serra's synth soundtrack for the movie is reflected so well in the game's soundtrack, with a few exceptions like the gunbarrel intro music and the credits music.

The accuracy of the mouse and higher framerate allow better gameplay but the weapons that fire like mad from the higher framerate in the hands of other characters is just brutal for me. Since you can't fire for a moment when you get hit, they can start a cycle where they just quickly take all of your health and you struggle to even return fire.

Which is why I've been playing GE at the normal framerate. I wanted to make sure that everything worked like it was supposed to. To be honest, I really don't notice a difference. Even at the normal speed, the movement seems fast and smooth. I've never really understood the obsession with 60FPS as some kind of holy grail of gaming.

That's exactly what speedrunning is; Using every exploit they can to get to the end of the level and say they did it. I watched one for the first level of Perfect Dark which claimed it was the world record. They put it on the easiest difficulty, then used a glitch to literally fall through the building bypassing the entire level.

You go into these videos thinking you're going to see someone play their way through the level with perfect skill and instead they just glitch their way through, bypassing as much as they can.

You know how to lean, right? Aim+A/D, that's pretty useful.

Too bad it doesn't always work the way it's supposed to. Half the time if I try to lean while in a tight area, he ends up moving as well.

I don't think so, never heard anything about it. The thing is they listened to the movie soundtrack and tried to make somethng similar, that's all I guess. I read somewhere they listened to it a lot.

I like the movie soundtrack but imo the game soundtrack is much better. Btw, have you guys listened to the uncompressed version?

Too bad it doesn't have all levels music.

EDIT: All uncompressed music here http://www.shootersforever.com/forums_message_boards/viewtopic.php?p=66091#66091

The first link are the ones I've heard before that Grant Kirkhope shared which are indeed the high-quality versions of a handful of the songs. The second link are not really that much improved I feel from the ones in the game that I can play in Winamp with Chipamp. The samples are a little bit cleaner uncompressed but it's not the vast difference like with the former release. I would love for the soundtracks of GoldenEye and Perfect Dark to be released in their full glory but I'm not holding my breath for that to ever happen.

You can purchase Perfect Dark on vinyl from a company called "Iam8bit" online. I actually bought one myself, but don't own a record player to listen to it. They did a really nice job on the design, especially how cool the records are. Limited to 3000.

Maybe if some other people begin requesting they try to get the rights to the GoldenEye N64 soundtrack, that they may attempt it. They have multiple Rare games, and recently got Ocarina of Time from Nintendo. So there is some hope.

I fixed a crouch bug - was affecting rom hacks. I feel the bundle now feature complete thanks to all who gave feedback

That is way it is supposed to work. When you rotate the screen while leaning you pivot from your standing point. This is the same with a controller [leaning and rotate while looking down - you will turn off center]

For you maybe. I never completed a level on LTK, let alone DLTK. Then again, I haven't tried it on the emulator, only on real hardware. Using the mouse for aiming is easier than the joypad, but not that much easier, so it's very impressive that you can play it so well.

Agreed. I respect speed-runners for their skills, patience (I'd go mad if I had to play the same level over and over again to shave a tenth of a second of the completion time), and investigative talent (some of the glitches that speed-runners find must have been found by Sherlock Holmes himself!). But when I've tried speed-running myself, I just don't find it to be enjoyable. And considering that speed-runners can spend months or even years playing the same game, and with no in-game variations (always taking the shortest/quickest routes, avoiding any secrets, etc), all in order to win nothing more than recognition that they have completed the game in the shortest time in the world, well, to me the game's definitely not worth the candle.

That's a playthrough on hardest difficulty, not a speedrun. You shouldn't go to a speedrun expecting to see the whole game being played "as it should" unless it's a glitchless run.

For example on my YouTube I have a normal playthrough of Perfect Dark but I also have the XBLA version world record speedrun, they're two different kind of videos where one is to play through the game "properly" and the other is just to finish the game as fast as possible by any means necessary. You already have to do it in the normal game if you want to get all the cheats.

I personally had a lot of fun doing the Perfect Dark speedrun, and I'm looking forward doing it again with the mouse injector just for fun.

Even when I don't turn, leaning makes him move while in tight spaces.

Stand in the middle of the floor and lean and he stays perfectly still while the view tilts somewhat. Stand in an alcove, like the one on the other side of the door in Control after you encounter Boris and the view bobs up and down as he tries to move. If you try to stand in the alcove and lean out to shoot the turrets*, you will end up moving out of the alcove and into their line of fire. All I want to do is stand sideways and lean out, so why is he trying to move?

*Yes, I now know that leaning isn't a good way to deal with the turrets, but at the time I figured I'd try it and got frustrated that it's impossible to just lean out of the alcove without actually moving out of the alcove.

Was not able to try it when it first came out and recently. IDK why using the vulkan driver crashes libretro [using updated drivers]

This happens when you try to lean in a place where there is not enough room [was a problem using the original controls too]. The "best" solution - always lean with some extra space in mind. Don't hug walls as bond will get caught in the geometry trying to lean back

I know a good feature you can add -- have the elevator music playing in an endless loop when the emulator is running but not in a game. Laughing

What about an option for mouse acceleration?

Yes - it would require redoing the interface for another slider. How important is mouse acceleration?
